Fort Wilderness All Day Wedding Event Ideas

Ok I am posting this in here rather than on the Weddings Board, because I really want to get some great ideas from fellow Fort Wilderness Lovers! My DF and I really want to have an all day Wedding Event at Fort Wilderness..Just trying to come up with some great activites that would keep the whole family busy for most of the day..We are going for a low key relaxed day mixed with tons of fun and Disney Camping Magic so let the ideas flow..I gotta have something to take to Disney as Fort Wilderness is not a typical Disney Wedding Venue..

Congratulations, and best wishes to you and DF! I haven't been to FW yet, but I'm staying at the cabins in October. what kind of activities are you looking for? Things like a fishing derby, shuffleboard tournament? Horseshoes..

I am primarily looking for anything that would maybe be classic Fort Wilderness..One of my ideas was to have a little Golf Cart Parade with all the Golf Carts Decorated with Just Married and Disney Characters so I could ride around the Fort in my Wedding Dress!!

how many guests will be there? is it a morning ceremony?

what about traditional picnic games, like three legged races, sac races? A wagon ride?



OK, now I'm wondering separately: do you have a PTR on the go yet?

1) Reservations at Trails End or Hoop de Doo Review for dinner. (TE breakfast buffet is good, too!
2) Take a bottle of champagne and some plastic flutes down to the marina and watch fireworks and Electrical Water pageant from the beach...

Some pictures with Cinderella's horse in your wedding dress?

Wagon or carriage ride in your wedding dress? (I think they do group wagon rides if you want to take your whole party.)

Volleyball, basketball or fishing tournaments for your guests. Archery lessons for everyone?

Great places all over for outdoor photography.

Absolutely! This is my favorite thing to do in the evenings.

Not sure how "horse comfortable" your group will be, that is a fun group thing to do.

What about good old tie-dying? You could have a bunch of white tees pre-printed in black with the date and a little logo or something and let people tie-dye and take them home as momentos!

Is it possible to get married at FW? We are doing vow renewal in 2015 and would love to do it FW but I didn't think this was an option.

I would still take this question over to the Wedding group as well. Being a Disney bride and a camper I frequent both. I know there was a girl not to long ago that had her reception at Mickey's Backyard Barbecue. I am not sure that they will do the ceremony at FW. There are a lot more rules and stipulations than one might think. Talk with DFTW, they do multiple weddings all day long, people here can help you dream, but the coordinators will be realistic with you.
