Hello! We have a trip planned for mid-February and have DVC points rented with a company that offers full refunds for trips > 120 days out in the form of credits. As we approach that deadline, I'm getting nervous about the financial decisions we made when we booked it last March. I'm thinking of moving from Copper Creek to the cabins at Ft Wilderness mid-way through our stay. We've stayed in the cabins before and enjoyed it, and it will save a lot of money! The problem is that we want to take advantage of the extended evening hours at Magic Kingdom before switching resorts. If we were at Magic Kingdom late Wednesday night, what are our options to get to Fort Wilderness afterwards? I know we can Uber, but that's a pain from MK. Is there still a walking trail from Wilderness Lodge? (Preferably lit at night) Or would boats/ buses still be going to Fort Wilderness even though they don't have access to the EEH? Do Minnie Vans run that late? We have 2 adults and a 6 and 12 year old if it matters. Thanks!

Minnie Vans will be running if parks are open.
That said, if you have already checked out of Copper Creek and into Fort Wilderness, I’m not certain you’d be able to stay for Extended Evening Hours, as you are no longer actively staying at a Deluxe Resort.

They'll be considered guests at WL until midnight of checkout day, so as long as the DEEH begin before midnight, they're good as far as that goes.

I agree with you that Minnie Van from MK to FW is their best transportation option.

Just wondering though - if they got a regular rideshare to FW, would the internal buses still be running at that hour, to get them from rideshare dropoff at The Outpost to their cabin loop? I don't know how late the internal bus runs.

No, that trail closed when construction began on Reflections and has not reopened since then, even though Reflections has been cancelled. There's a bus from WL to FW, but I don't know how late it runs.
