Has anyone stayed in either the Fort Wilderness 1 Bedroom Villa or the FW Cabin? I spent a week in the cabin and thought it was great! I was wondering if anyone could compare the two or give insight on what the pros/cons of each are!

Just to clarify...there's no such thing as a "Fort Wilderness 1-bedroom villa".

Fort Wilderness has cabins and campsites only.

You can get a 1-bedroom at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge, which is part of the Wilderness Lodge resort, a completely separate resort from Fort Wilderness. It's also along Bay Lake, but I think it's about a mile down the walking path. FW and WL don't share any facilities.

I haven't stayed in a cabin, but the 1-bedroom villa has a master bedroom with king bed, a living room with a sofa bed, and a full kitchen, complete with pots, pans, glasses, dishes, etc. Full-size fridge, stove, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker. Toaster, too, I think.

There's also a washer/dryer, and a jacuzzi tub. The bathroom/vanity area is immense. Oh, and 2 TV's. One in the living room, one in the bedroom.

The cabin has a back bedroom with a full size bed and a bunkbed. The living room has a pull down full size? bed. The cabin has a full kitchen as well. Not sure if there is a washer and dryer in the cabin and it just has a regular tub.

Hi!

The cabins do not have a w/d. The other info provided is correct.

The cabins are nice-my family enjoys this type of accomodation more than the hotels or villas at Disney World. We've stayed value (AS Sports, Pop), mod-(all of them), and deluxe (GF-Sugar Loaf Concierge and WL concierge) and villa (SSR-studio and one bedroom, and OKW studio.)

We like that we have our own space-no slamming doors or neighbors upstairs (or next door) sounding like a herd of buffalo. We like that DS (8) can make noise and not disturb others (besides us that is.)

The cabins are meant to be more rustic but comfortable. Also, FW is rather spread out and some people do not like the fact it is so big. (You have to take a bus or use a golf cart to get down to the marina to get the boat to the MK for example.)

I have stayed at this resort about 8 times so please feel free to ask me any questions.

VWL has the 1-bedroom,too.

these are DVC units

1 king bed in the master, 1 queen sleeper sofa in the livingroom. whirlpool tub and shower stall in the master bath. they have a washer/dryer in a closet.

a 2-bedroom also has a second bedroom with either 2 queens beds or 1 queen bed and a double sleeper sofa plus a combination tub and shower in the 2nd bathroom.
