Planning a trip for May 2019. From Wyoming where temps are 70-80 in MAY, BUT VERY low humidity. I'd like to tent camp and save thousands, but am worried we'll be miserable in Florida at end of May. Thoughts from other Northerners? BTW, we will have six people so most single rooms on WDW won't fit us.

We were there end of May to first week of June. We were miserable. DH was so sweaty we bought him a new shirt at AK. By lunch time we had to call it quits in the parks and go back to the cabin and cool down. Then go back out again after sunset. Without the A/C we'd have died. :faint:

Here's the forecast for the next 2 weeks at WDW. WDW Weather Except for today, everyday, the high is upper 80s and low 90s. Humidity is 40 and 50%. While that's not as bad as mid-summer humidity with the daily rains, it will feel much stickier and hotter than Wyoming in July. The good news is the nights and evenings will be in the upper 60s and low 70s. That's is good sleeping weather (compared to July/August 80s).

If you take advantage of the many ways/places to cool down during the day, camping in early May should be fine. Late May, the humidity and rains start kicking up and it is the heart of the "Summer" season.

For the first few years we lived here, I would not have done anything in May, or even April. I was positive that I would die of heat stroke. About the fourth year of living year, I started to acclimate. It took a very long time, but ten years later, I would tent camp in the summer here.

I would not have had a good time doing so prior to all the years of acclimating, even with a tent a/c. I would have been miserable in the parks. Personally, if I were spending all that money to come to Disney and tent camping, I would do it in a cooler month.

We are headed to the Fort in just a few weeks. We are renting a camper. I can't say how well this works, as it's our first time doing this, but I've read great things. The company We are renting from has been very helpful thus far. It would still be more than tent camping but I found still way less than what we would have paid at AoA. Just a thought you might want to consider.

These are great responses. It seems o may be right in my thinking. Maybe I'll shoot for Christmas break. I have three in college so I'm locked in to college breaks..

May is hot!!! We returned today after 10 nights at FW. The first few days (late April) were cool, then the sun started scorching! It was 97* a couple days there, with other days varying in temps from about 87*-95*. The humidity was mostly 50%-60% most days, but that can be plenty hot. Of course it will steadily get much hotter fast. Years will vary somewhat.

Just noticed you said from other northerners!! :) I'm as south as can be but 'never' will get used to being out all day in the summer heat.

Hmm.... I guess middle of June is going to be a bit on the "Warm" side too.... Oh well... That's when we are going and we will make the best of it. It's Disney and the Fort, after all. Right? :stitch2:

I am looking for a constant
Average High of 75
Max Low of 60

Max Wind Speed 6 MPH
Humidity 50% or less

Where can I find this?
Oh yeah... Neighbors not too close, no Property/Income tax and High paying (read 6 or even 7 figures) jobs that only require me to work no more than 35 hours a week and I can wear any clothes I want. Oh... and be allowed to telecommute...

That's not asking too much.... is it?

Last time we went was in August 2014 and our daughter was 7 months pregnant - temperatures were about 114 every day, I don't know how she did it and we are from Ontario, Canada, not used to that kind of humidity and temperature.

We're checking in tomorrow and the high is predicted to reach 99. That's going to be painful. Don't think I could have handled touring disney in that kind of heat while pregnant.
