Did any notice that Kissimmee Orlando RV Rental recently posted on Facebook as a Preferred Fort Wilderness Vendor.

Yes, I've seen several of there trucks around the fort setting up trailers

The WDW website does not have them listed as an official vendor.

Their own customers?

Most vendors who do a decent job (and there are probably several that serve Fort guests) can make the same claim that "their customers" PREFER them. A simple quick survey after a rental can confirm that.

Denise is right - I prefer my cooking but that doesn't mean I'm a chef in a restaurant.

They are the preferred vendor of a Fort Wilderness Campers FB page, not WDW.

We saw this vendor in and around the Fort several times a few weeks ago, FWIW. Delivered the travel trailer to the site next to us.

I agree more claims that just are not true, all the other companies know that Meechams is the only approved Fort vendor. They are just trying to get customers in a very sneaky way. If I were to or have friends rent a camper at the Fort Meechams is the only company I would use. This comes from past experiences with the owners. Not affiliated in any way just from great customer service and really caring about their customers.

A couple of years ago we rented through a vendor not Meechams. It was not a good experience and took quite a long time to remedy.

Update Kissimmee Orlando RV Rental is now on the Disney list of "Featured Provider".

Maybe the vendor jumped the gun on the announcement but the agreement didn't go into effect until May 1.

In any case, having more approved vendors is better for us guests.

PS - but still, at least now the vendor can change FB to say that they are an Official Provider also.

I’m not interpreting the wording that way.

The first and second bullet point talks specifically about RVs.
Then it states GCs are available to rent from FtW
That 3rd party companies not welcome
And if guests bring their own GC… insurance.

The 2 golf cart options look like FtW rental or your own?

I remember back years ago when Disney cut out all the outside GC vendors who made deliveries to the Fort. The only way you could have a GC was to rent from Disney, bring your own, or meet the vendor somewhere offsite and either borrow their truck/trailer, bring your own trailer, or transfer over to your own truck. Oh the good ole' days!

Sounds like they are applying the clamps again...

When researching RV rental/drop-off companies at FW, remember that BBB can be your friend. Be sure to scour the reviews prior to commitment (not just the self-promotion used on their websites).

I used them and, sadly, the experience led me to leaving a not-so-positive review.

So I just called Disney and reserved my golf cart for next year. Probably not the nicest CM I have ever spoke with but I figure they are getting a lot of angry calls. ( just to be clear, I was not angry, and was very respectful but I figured the CMs are catching the brunt of a decision made by Disney) He did explain that the only way you can do an off site rental is to drive it in yourself and get insurance in your name. I made the reservation ($490 for 7 days) for double the price I was getting it before. Now just hope in the next year they dont ban outside camper rentals. I love camping and the fort but…….definitely frustrating.

I'm not sure what I'll do for a cart. I currently have a Kenny reservation for 13 days and it is only slightly more than Tinkerjo's 7 day Fort cart.

This annoys me enough that I may cut my camping reservation from 2 weeks to 1 if I'm forced to get a Fort cart. That will save me enough $$ to take another trip to DLP next year.
