We are headed down to Fort Myers Naples area for 2 full days with a 17 15 &12 year olds any suggestion of what to do that will satisfy this age kids all boys. Going down to see grandparents and they want suggestions on what the boys want to do.:confused3

Airboat ride in the everglades
Tour Thomas Edison's home
Beaches
Shell Factory-kind of hokey but we always go

Yes we were thinking airboat ride. I just had a back fusion done 3 months ago can you tell me if it's a rough ride?

Yes, it can be rough! Sorry--I wouldn't chance it. Although you could ask the airboat captain to be slow and cautious. You would still have a great ride and see LOTS of alligators.

go on a 1/2 day deep sea fishing outing :thumbsup2
If in Naples you can also rent boats to head out in from over by Tin City...Naples beach is beautiful, you could just get some snorkeling stuff from Sports Authority and do that one afternoon...but not sure when you are oging...water could be cold! There's Sanivle Island, Ft Myers beach has more teen oriented touristy stuff, when do you go?
My folks live in Naples, my brother in Cape Coral ( just outside Ft. Myers)

The biggest attraction is the beaches. Depending on the time of year you visit, it might be cool. Skim boarding is a huge sport on the beach. Fort Myers Beach, Naples, Sanibel and Captiva all have beautiful beaches. There are lots of movie theatres between Fort Myers and Naples. There are deep sea fishing trips and dolphin watching boat rides, as well as kayak and Jet Ski rentals. Lots of new malls, too. Great stores...Hollister and Ron Jon surf shop are always a hit. Two hours north is Busch Gardens & the Florida Aquarium, three hours away to Disney, Sea World, Wet n Wild, and Universal. Two hours across the state and you're on the east coast. Hope that helps. Depending on the time of year, SunSplash Family Waterpark in Cape Coral is open (http://www.capecoral.net/SunSplash/Home/tabid/979/Default.aspx) as well as Sun N Fun Lagoon in Naples (http://www.colliergov.net/Index.aspx?page=358). There are a couple of pottery painting art studios, too. I believe there are also some paintball parks around as well.

Thanks Finfan We are checking into the deep sea fishing but the 17&15 year olds have already done that with us parents. We are going Feb 12 -15. what is there to do on sanibel island? What is there to do for the for teens in Fort Myers?

Fort Myers...movies..shopping...that's about it. Sanibel has the Bailiey Matthews Shell Museum, Ding Darling, lots of shops, shelling. It's in the 80s today, only going to be a high in the 60s this weekend. The weather is subjective, it varies until closer to May. There are resorts on Sanibel where you can patronize the restaurant and possibly use the pool. I have teen sons so I gave you every suggestion that I could think of for our area.

LOL sorry...didn't even think of that....not baseball fans. (Don't shoot me. :tiptoe: :duck: ) Excellent suggestion though! :thumbsup2
