Friends are going on a cruise which goes out of Fort Lauderdale. They're planning on staying a couple of extra days there, but would like to do a day trip to WDW. Neither one has a driver's license. What's a good transportation option for them?

Fort Lauderdale is every minute of three hours from WDW. There are no shuttles. A car service is going to run $300 each way--if not more. Additionally, it's not really a "day trip".

Greyhound is probably going to be the cheapest--but that's going to take a full day in travel. I suppose you could fly from FLL to MCO, but that's going to be expensive.

IMHO, unless they ahve a few days to devote to a side trip to WDW, iut's just not worth it.

SW does the flight I think and you might can get a deal there.

By the time they get to the airport, fly to MCO, take a shuttle or car service to a park, and then plan on doing the same thing on return, it seems like too much bother and expense for the "day trip" they were talking about. My guess is these folks ahd no idea how far WDW is from FLL.

Truth to tell, I was picturing it as being somewhat north of its actual location myself. I had thought it was maybe an hour south of Cocoa Beach. Don't know where I got that impression.

Maybe they'll decide to fly up and take a couple of days. Then those fabulous airfares will come in handy.

Thanks everyone!

Its about 3 hrs south - maybe 2 if you don't hit traffic.

Also don't forget that they might be able to get a FL. resident discount if they stay on site.

NO WAY you're getting from WDW to FLL in two hours. Vero, possibly. FLL, no way. And how would they get FL resident rates? They are going on a cruise out of FLL, they don't live there.
