Hi All,
Has anyone stayed at the Candlewood suites pre-cruise? I am just concerned because it is so cheap ($132). I understand there is no breakfast, but we never eat at the hotel buffets. Is it a decent clean place for one night? TIA!!

Nope. I like to read TripAdvisor reviews. This one has 791 reviews. 460 Excellent. 160 a step below that. Those are numbers. …

But the problems mentioned in write-ups could be concerning. It’s not a lack of comfort or cleanliness. It’s repeated problems with the hotel dropping reservations and then charging you a higher price when you arrive. And maybe not getting the bed count you need. Not the way I would want to start a vacation.

Keep the reservation, just in case, but look for other deals on a hotel without a bait-and-switch reputation.

OMG! Thanks! I never thought of this! I'll keep looking.

Also consider Dania Beach area hotels. Lots of options. You are going to take transport to the port, anyway, and they are not so much farther out to rack up a big increase in ground transportation. If you need to eat dinner, try and find something next to food options.

I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn (HGI) Dania Beach several years ago. It is currently remodeling (though still open). They have a complimentary airport shuttle. And there are a variety of dining options within a block or two, mainly on the same side of street. And surrounded by other hotels. I would consider this again.
