First. I apologize if I am in the wrong place. I wasn't sure where to post this.

I have AP's but I'm thinking of upgrading to a PAP for our Feb. trip. They expire the end of April. I was thinking of upgrading because the parks close fairly early in Feb and I figure we will hit Disney quest and PI. I know we will probably do DQ more than once.
So, how do I figure out the difference? Or should I just buy a AP for DQ and PI? We don't have another trip planned right now so I am unsure if we will renew our passes. We are buying DVC, but I don't know if we will utilize it our first year. (hubby is getting a little burn't out on Disney. :( )
So.....what would be the best thing to do? There are 5 of us all considered adults. Thanks.

Oh yeah.....we have used a total of 17 days so far on them.

This may give you some answers, phorsenuf.

What if I decide I want to change to a PAP after I already used my AP?

You can do this. It will be handled just like any other pass upgrade. There was a time that you could upgrade your AP to a PAP simply by paying the prorated difference on the remaining time of your AP. (Example: a $120 cost difference translates to $12 per month. If you had 3 months to run on your AP it would have cost you $36 to upgrade to a PAP that would expire when your old AP did.) But there have been reports that Disney will no longer pro-rate an AP for this. If you want to upgrade an AP to a PAP now you will be charged the entire price difference ($120 in the example) for whatever time you have remaining on the AP.

If I realize after purchasing or upgrading to a PAP that I'm not going to use the water parks, DisneyQuest, or Pleasure Island admissions very much, can I downgrade it to a regular AP?

No you cannot. Disney does not allow downgrading on any current pass. You would be allowed to downgrade from a PAP to an AP upon renewing an expiring pass however.

DQ AP's are $84 (DQ discount available for a few more days) and PI AP is $58.

I think if it were me, I would probably buy a single day admissions. Enjoy. :wave2:
