Hi!
My friends son has just gone to Florida. He said he still had t fill the same immigration forms out on plane.I thought the internet application meant we no longer had to??

Lynn:confused3

Yep still had to fill the forms in when we went in April.

No mention of ESTA at any time.

Unfortunately in the early phase of rolling out the ESTA you will still be required to fill out the green forms on the planes as normal. Not sure when this is due to end.

You will still be required to fill out the white customs forms even when the ESTA is up and running.

its a bit crazy that they want you to do esta, api, green cards, and the normal still slow immigration process when you get there!

Shame I was hoping that with ESTA we would escape green form.
Guess I should have the info written down just in case needed :)

Is filling out an ESTA compulsory -if so where do I find it and how late can I do that -slight panic feelings as still waiting on my sons' passport renewals coming through :scared: We fly July 30th.

Yes you do have to fill them in
This is the link I used for my ESTA http://www.visitusa.org.uk/visitors/esta.aspx

You do NOT have to pay for it as some sites tell you it is FREE. All you need to do is fill in all the required info like you do on the green form on the plane. You can start to fill in the form and just make a note of the number if you don't have all the info you need.

They say that you need to fill them in 72 hours before you are due to fly out. Some people get an answer straight away others have to wait. Think it took about 48hours for us to get our response.

Just make sure that you take a note of the number next to the name of each person in the group if you don't have the number and need to add more info you will have to fill out another form.:goodvibes

I have a Visa for the States and would usually complete the white immigration form, Does anyone know if I will have to complete the ESTA? Have read the details but I am still unsure.

No you won't. ESTA is intended to replace the Visa Waiver Program so if you have a visa it doesn't apply to you. :)
