Okay, this has been bugging me. Probably more because I can't remember it than anything.

Back in the 70's, I was a Girl Scout and sold LOTS of cookies. They were FFV and there were five varieties we sold. I can only remember 4...what was the fifth?
Trefoils (shortbread)
PBPs (peanut butter patties)
Peanut butter sandwiches
Thin Mints

My 'sorta sister' became a brownie about 5 years after I stopped being a scout and they'd added a chocolate chunk cookie (really good)

So, what was that other cookie?

There used to be a chocolate cookie that was formed like the pbpatty but just had fudge on top. That was my favorite.

I think that was a Tagalong. Was the 5th cookie the Do-Si-Do? I probably spelled that wrong or was it a Samoa (with coconut)?

the Do Si Do is very similar to the peanut butter sandwich. It was a peanut butter cookie with peanut butter filling.

Long Island didn't use Little Brownie Bakers, I'm pretty sure we were famous foods of virginia.

Neat website, though!

I looked at the site...what were Van-chos? I never heard of them.

There did used to be a peanut butter sandwich cookie. Samoas didn't surface until the late 70's, did they?

Found it on interstate bakers site. It's a lemon filled cookie sandwich!

I don't remember samoas until 'sorta sis' was a junior scout, so that'd be around 82 or 83. I bought them from her, thinking they'd be like s'mores, but they had coconut in them-blech!

You know, they could make it easier for those of us who are reminising and hyperlink those cookies with a description, don't you think? :rotfl2:

In the 60's when I sold them we had

Thin Mints
Shortbread
Vanilla sandwich
chocolate sandwich

and the Peanut Butter sandwich were added to the list to make 5 varities.

And I don't think we sold them for more than .35 a box.

I am 100% there was a cheddar cracker sold along with the cookies, does anyone remember?

I remember cheddar crackers from either the late 70s or early 80s. They were good!
