We are travelling with my DH's parents and 2 siblings. I know my mother in law is going to want a picture of all of us. And I want one of just my family of four. Will Shutters take these 2 different poses with Mickey and Minnie or do they only do one picture of each party. I really want our picture for our Christmas cards.

Thanks

They will do as many as you want in whatever configuration. You will have your picture taken more during the cruise than you probably have in the past 10 years!

Great...I didn't want to be the obnoxious family holding up the photo line with the characters. We will take one and then take the other...thanks for the quick response!

I am hoping that we can get a nice formal night photo of our family. How does the booking of these photos go? I only want formal night (not semi-formal) and because I have two small (and messy) kids, I would only consider pre-dinner photos (otherwise, what is the point of spagetti-stained clothes). What should my strategy be?

I emailed Image Photo Service about a photo waiver and my concern about getting a group formal photo. I was told upon arrival to make an appt w/the manager of Shutters. I would not be comfortable standing in line with 16 people in our grp (incl. 7 kiddos) each having a group and family portraits done. Our family is picture crazy and it could take awhile ;)

nedleycan.....no strategy needed. Just jump in any line that you want for photos. There are about three different lines in the atrium for formal photos, semi-formal, each with different characters. They have different backgrounds and characters on different nights.

See who's in the atrium area and just stand in the line with the character or backdrop that you want in your picture. If you don't want any pictures, don't stand in line. Very easy. You don't need to sign up or reserve them or anything. Totally your choice.

In the dining rooms and around the ship, the photographers come around and ask you if you want your photo taken. If you do say yes, if you don't say no thank you and they will move on.

Which characters are available? Are there any backdrops that dont have characters?

They have a plain background and a backdrop of the ship, and some others.

The characters don't have backdrops, just the characters themselves.

Hopefully the line w/the ship in the background is shorter than waiting for the character pictures. How much earlier than the posted time would you arrive for pictures?

Sorry - I forgot - oops - it's the background where it looks like you are floating outside the ship - can we stand in front of the "railing"?

They have one with the railing and one without. We liked the one without. They also have pictures with Minnie and Mickey in their formal wear- we liked that one too.

You don't really need to show up early as they are there taking pictures for a couple of hours in the evening. The characters do change but the times they are available are posted on a board in the deck 3 atrium. If I remember correctly they have 3 or 4 'stations' with different backdrops set up for your formal pictures. The longest we had to wait for photos was maybe 10 minutes.
