I would love to get a family photo taken onn formal night, I love those with Magic in the background.

Does anyone know if you can make an appointment to get this done, I am sure there is a long line and with dinner ressies I want to make sure we get in???

Any tips please??

There are several places set up to get your family photo taken. We just stood in the line and had it done. The line did move quickly, and only took about 10 minutes. I'm not aware of any appointment system.

No appointments on formal night but they did have times set up during the day for other professional pictures with the kids. The lines moved pretty quickly. If you show up at 5:30 before the early dinner it wont be bad at all. We also found that getting out of the dining room at 8:30 let us be near the front of the line for the next round of pictures.

I agree with the others. You shouldn't have a problem at all getting a family pic done. When we cruised, the photographers were constantly in the atrium doing something.
Also, if I'm not mistaken, the times will also be listed in your Navigator, so that should help some too!

Yes, lines move fast and folks are very nice....

I would also suggest doing several of the picture choices so you have some choices at Shutters...we found that the one we wanted on the "deck" was our least favorite shot of everyone and our favorite was the one w/the captain (which we only took because there was NO line and we felt sorry for him!). FYI, the one w/the captain is the only one the do in the smaller print size (if you buy the package of 10 prints, etc) and it has info about the boat and a pic of the boat in the corner.

If you show up about 5 minutes before the time they are scheduled to start taking pictures, there usually is no one waiting & you will be first....

I really wish they would do the formal pics in 6x8. I was really dissapointed they only came in 8x10. Of course I bought them. I didn't really think to check, but I probably could have ordered reprints on board of 5x7 or 6x8? Does anyone know if that's possible? I know online to get reprints it is 19.95 ea. and looks like 8x10 only. It was more work, but I actually ended up scanning my formal pics at home and getting a release from shutters and then uploading to a site to make prints for me. I guess that would be cheaper than DCL as 5x7 were only .99ct. If you have ordered 5x7 from DCL do you know how much they were? I'd like to know before our next cruise in 2007!
Thanks.

You cannot order 5x7s of an 8x10 print at Shutters. :frown: Most of the formal poses that they do come in 8x10 while the regular character shots are in 6x8. Those are regularly 9.99 each but we get the package of 10 for 84.95.

for some reason we had good luck right after 6pm dinner getting formal pictures done. And the way they do the one with the captain and the welcome aboard picture is the ones I like the most. Daughter had pictures taken with family and kids in front and white screen and them came out great. I don't take good pictures put got in a few myself.

Here is one better wait till the smi- formal night their is no lines just walk up and get pitchers done i found this to be less stressful and the kids dont mine it as much sandra
