On the formal night and the semi-formal night what are most of the men wearing? Should we rent a tux? DH doesn't have a black suit only a dark blue one. What do most of the men wear. I was thinking he should go buy a black suit, but if most men wear a tux then maybe that would be better. He thinks that his dark blue suit is fine. I need to know from someone who has gone on this trip before what the men where wearing!

A dark blue suit would be fine for both the formal and semi-formal evening, unless he would enjoy wearing a tux.

You'll see some of everything — tuxedos, dark suits, light suits, sport coats, shirts with ties but no jacket, and a few who appear to be dressed to clean their garage. The majority are wearing a tux, a black suit, a charcoal suit, or dark blue suit. At least that's how it was a year ago.

this year DH will be in a tux on my birthday - formal night Nov 13th

quite a change from his sweatpants & tshirt he usually wears

DH rented a tux on our 7 day cruise in 2001 and I'd say about 25% of the men were in tuxes. For our cruise in two weeks he's taking his dark grey suit. Got some new shirts for him and a couple of great Disney (but subtle Disney) ties.

My hubby always wears his dark blue suit to both formal and semi formal....always fit right in. Save the money you would spend on a new black suite and have a few drinks by the pool!!!!

Just back a couple of weeks ago. My DH wore a charcoal gray suit with a white shirt with french cuffs and Mickey Cuff Links!
There were a couple of men in golf shirts and everyone else was dressed in suits then about 25% tuxes.

Where can I purchase Mickey accessories for DH's tux? i.e. cumberbund (sp?), cuff links, tie, vest... Thanks!

I think some of the formal wear store/rental places have the Disney accessories.
The cuff links we got on board at the Treasure Ketch. They were the last pair (I bet they have more in by now). As is most things in that store they were a bit pricy.

I'm going with my black dress pants, black sport coat, one white dress shirt, one black dress shirt, and two different Mickey Mouse ties, one red and one gold, for the formal and semi-formal nights.

Have no fear ~
Tell hubby his dark blue suit will fit in perfectly. Our men wore suits or sport coats/slacks w/Mickey ties and were not out of place. ;) This picture is from our Magic semi formal in December. Enjoy!!

Does anyone know the approximate cost for tux rental onboard, in case we plan to go that route?

Thank You so much to everyone who helped to put my mind at rest. The blue suit it will be! If you are on the May 3rd trip look for us, with his blue suit and white shirt and my red dress we will be very American that night!

Thank you, MagicMouseketeers!

That was just the information i was looking for. i'd love to have DS (10) wear a tux too, but i think that's somthing that's not going to happen!
I love the look of the white dinner jacket! that's what we'll go with.
