Okay, we will probably have the late seating. Even with DDs 4 and 8 I think thats okay. But, I was wondering when do we take pictures on formal night? I don't think I can keep the kiddo looking spiffy until 8 pm or so. Thanks in advance for the info. Renae

On our first cruise, we had late dining, we had our formal photos taken while the first dining was taking place. After getting what photos we wanted done (and that took a while, the lines were quite long), we went to dinner.

We did the same as Andy - got dressed up and had the formal picture done with very little waiting there may have been three or four families ahead of us. Then we headed over to Golden Mickey's. My kids and DH hated having to sit so long all dressed up - oh well - I didn't feel too bad for them.

But doesn't early seating dinner start at 6pm and the show starts at 6:30? Is the 30 minutes between enough time to get the pictures? Thanks!

Actually, I think DW and I stared getting our formal pictures taken around 5:30 since DD didn't want to be bothered with this, then we went to our 6:30 show, then went back and had a few more pictures taken just before dinner. All I know is that we spent a lot of time standing in lines.

Unfortunately we didn't make it through the line. We had late seating, allowed an hour prior to dinner to have the picture taken and still didn't come close to having it taken because the lines we so long. That was our Animators Palate night and we didn't want to miss the show so we gave up. However, after dinner we had someone use our camera and they got a great shot of us in front of Mickey in the lobby. This was in June on the Magic.

There can be long lines. Our first Disney cruise we had late seating and waited in lines, the lines weren't to long as the ship was only about 2/3 full.
This last cruise (the Christmas 10day Magic) the ship was FULL and the lines were definitely there.

We ended up with only one formal shot, although the girls did sneak off during dinner and took a few more. Which was better anyway!

Thanks for the info. By the sounds of how long the lines are, I don't know that I want to wait in line for it. My husband takes pictures (used to do it for a living). I may just have him bring a camera and take our picture all dressed up. I can't see standing in lines all night for pictures. Too much other stuff to do! Since all that is left on our cruise, 12/16/05 are cat. 10s, I'll bet we sell out and long lines don't interest me.
