HI,
How dressed up do children get for formal night?

I can see that it would be easy for a little girl, she just puts on a cute little dress, perhaps her Easter Dress and she is set.

What about boys, do they were jackets? Shirt and Tie? or would a collar three button polo shirt with pants be ok?

Thanks :earsgirl:

My son, was 4 when we first took him on DCL. He wanted to know where his tuxedo was for formal night, and navy sport coat for semi-formal night.

So, when we docked, I searched for a tie, sport coat or suit, but of course could not find one. (He desperately wants to wear clothes like Daddy).

The next time we went on DCL, I packed everyone a tux and a navy sport coat.

My son was very happy and looked quite dapper. We received lots of comments on his attire and attitude. He had his picture with Mickey ('cause he had on the same tux as DS).

That was our Christmas card that year!

Make it fun - an adventure!

Now, my DS9, loves to dress up - he says it makes him look mature and respected. (I don't care - he looks great!)

My son wore a button down shirt and a navy coat and tie with slacks. The younger your child is the less dressed up he has to be. I have seen all types of clothes on the formal and semi formual nights.

DS loves going on the ship to dress up...of course he has quite the neck tie collection at age 6. LOL! We take both of his suits in case one gets messed up with a Mickey Bar at the formal dinner so that he will have one for semiformal night.

Check eBay for tuxes for the boys - great prices. They grow out of them so quickly but they look fantastic in the formal pictures!
