Formal And Semi-Formal Questions...

If DH can get away with a suit (jacket, slacks, long sleeve shirt, tie) for formal night, then what is a suggestion for semi-formal? Should he just wear the same suit w/ a different shirt? I have dockers and short sleeve button up or short sleve golf shirts for him the other 5 nights.

I know some will say wear what he is comfortable with, but for him being comfortable would be blending in with what the majority of others is wearing.

Also do most of the adults change after dinner, ( to go to shows, comedy club etc.) I know he will be dying to get back into shorts and a t-shirt if again he's not going to be standing out like a sore thumb.

:MY Dh wore a tux to both, but next cruise he will wear shirt , tie and jacket. Oh he will also wear slacks

We wore gowns to both and I figure he will coordinate to my gown.

The suit is great for him for both nights if he doesn't want to wear a tux.

Yes, a lot of people do change after dinner, we did for sure.

Suit both nights is my recommendation as well. What worked for us was this. Formal night, wear the suit with a white shirt and classic type tie (usually some dark solid color, or a very small pattern). Semi formal night, go with a more contemporary look, like if it's a black suit, add a gray shirt and a gray tie; or a navy suit with a pastel shirt and patterned (maybe Disney characters) tie? You could also go with a sport coat over a nice sweater for semi-formal, but that's an extra jacket to pack. If you plan on a sport coat at Palo, then it would work well for semi-formal.

Thanks for the help. That's a great idea about goimg for the classic and then "more fun" look. DH wears his suit about once a year, so he always wears the same dhirt snd tie. I'll get him something more fun for semi-formal!

My husband wore a very nice suit with white shirt to formal night. For semi-formal night, he wore the same suit with a colored shirt and different tie.
