First let me put my flamesuit on....I am sure this is going to get ugly.
I am a DVC member and I decided in November that I would take some of our points and stay at the Polynesian May 2nd through the 7th. Crazy I know, but this is my DSis's ultimate dream resort. I also understood that DVC is building at the GF and there may be some constuction to deal with.
I watched the threads in March when the monorail was down and how upset everyone was due to no notification.
So, yesterday I received a letter from WDW letting me know that during my trip there would be an interuption in service. I am posting this not to get the great debate started, but to see if other Monorail guests staying around the time that I am have received the same letter.
Personally, I am glad that they sent the notification, and even if I could change resorts, I would not due to the signifigance of the trip.
Here is what the letter said:
April 2012
Dear Walt Disney World Resort Guest,
We are delighted that you have selected the Walt Disney World Resort as your vacation destination!
In order for the Parks and Resorts to continue to flourish as a magical setination, it is necessary for us to make enhancements from time to time.
We would like to make you aware of planned maintenance to the Monorail system that will occur during your upcoming visit. As a result, we will be temproarily adjusting the operating schedule for the Monorail to and from the Magic Kingdom Park. This is scheduled to take place during non-peak times between late morning and early evening.
Buses and Watercraft(where applicable) will be available to transport you to destinations throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. Monorail service to the Magic Kingdom Park will continue to be available before and after this maintenance.
Thank you and we look forward to your upcoming stay. If you have any questions regarding your reservation, please contact your original booking agent listed on your confirmation.
Sincerely,
The Cast of the Walt Disney World Resort
