Forgive me if I can find the answer to this somewhere, I am worried that during my trip Greetings from CA at CA is going to be closed, don't know when it is set to close, but worried, will I be able to buy stuff directly related to the California Adventure park. I know there is always World of Disney but that shop always had unique items to that park, I am getting really worried and concerned, because they are even doing work on The Emporium at DL, it is really starting to concern me. Really wanted some WOC merchandise. I know that is sold in Greetings from CA.:goodvibes

Even if Greetings to CA is closed, there are plenty of other merchandise shops at DCA that have DCA items. I have purchased DCA shirts at the gift shop near TSMM and there are also lots of WOC items at the gift shop by Ariel's Grotto.

I hear that when they close the shops for refurbs there are merch carts that get placed around the park to compensate for lost sales. So even if that storefront is closed, you should still be able to find most of the merchandise around the park.

Believe me, there will be no shortage of opportunities to purchase WOC and other DCA-specific items, even if Greetings from CA is closed. Disney would NEVER pass up the chance to sell something :rotfl2:.

I would not worry at all. I understand that you are very worried, but really, don't be. As a PP pointed out, Disney will always make sure that there is somewhere you can buy souvenirs from the Parks. IF Greetings is not open, which is an IF, DCA merchandise that you want will be available elsewhere in DCA.

You pointed out there is work being done at the Emporium. While this is true, the Emporium is still open and, yep, selling lots of merchandise every day. :wizard:

No worries,
Dreams

Thank you all so much, I do feel better now.:goodvibes

From what I read, Enginears Toys, is closing soon, in possibly under a month, that includes every thing in the California Zepher in front of it. It's possible if they plan it to do so, it could reopen as a new retail location before Greetings closes.

It's very far and few between that major merchandise can't be found in another place when one another closed or in rehab.

Are they leaving the train? Would you mind sending a link my way on where you read up on this?

I'm sure I'm not the only one, but, my son and husband are huge train nerds and we have a working model of that train in particular that serves as our Christmas train under the tree.

I can't recall where I read, but it's in several places for the August close now. The DIS shows it too http://www.wdwinfo.com/disneyland/plan.htm#rehab

The only place that doesn't is DL.com. :confused3

Yes the train will be gone as the whole entrance area is getting rethemed.
