Okay, now this is like putting friends you grew up with together with friends from work......someone is bound to get hurt!

When I had my little tire episode, I PMd Robin as I knew she would get a laugh out of it. Little did I know that I would inspire her to nearly get herself killed just for the sake of some good writing material.

At the same time I shared my little escapade with my friends on the Angel thread. I constantly harass and annoy them so I felt an obligation to "give something back".

Never did I expect them to start cross referencing my lack of automotive skills with those of my trip writing friends.

So for those of you who are scratching your head, read delswifes trip report in my signature. Then go to the other links. Then blame Del (or in this case Dell for selling her a computer in the first place!) I've never been to Maine, I am not related to her SIL, I drive with a full spare (from past experience) and I have never been hit in the head with falling lasagna (that's another link you'll have to find).

Any similarities to any persons living, dead or posting on the Angels thread is purely coincidental and will be denied in a court of law, the court of public opinion and the court which both Robin and I belong in ===>

Tires and I don't get along either. I know how to change a tire, but that doesn't help much when I can't budge the darn lugnuts. When it takes my (then) 300 pound DH jumping on the wrench, you know they were on too tight.

Hi,
This sounds so familiar to me. I have had many car adventures. About 8 years ago on the way to work, I must have drove over some nails on a major road near BWI. I got to work--the tires looked aright. Several hours later---guess what? Both rear tires were flat. I put a can of tire air with sealant in the best one and changed the other one myself. Thank God that Dad taught me some basic auto maintence skills. I drove home going 50-55, which is not good to do a spare generally, but it was a full size tire. My Dad got mad that I didn't call him to pick me up because my job was less than 10 minutes from the PriceClub/Costco and home was about 45 minute drive. I have even better stories about transmission trouble on 3 cars. I have enjoyed many of your posts.
