Forgive me DCL....

I've never been on the Miracle, but CCL offers some 3 day cruises out of Ft Lauderdale ...I checked pricing...$1250 or so, family of 4...for the same price, I could cruise on the Wonder using FL res. discount.....As for my comment about 99% of the ships, please dont take this literally, although your sarcasm is uncalled for....I've had friends who've taken CCL cruises and have read many many reviews....Most of their ships in their fleet, from a design and amenities standpoint, are not as nice as the 2 DCL ships...thats a fact...Also, up Until the last few years, the reviews from my friends and the ones I've read confirmed CCL as being "a party, college atmosphere", with an emphasis on drinking....I'm sure that has changed as CCL is phasing out some of their aging ships, and trying to provide more of an upscale experience....

believe me, I love Disney just as much as the rest of you but I just don't see what you are talking about as far as amenities and such being better on DCL. I find them pretty much the same, although CCL puts a lot more toiletries in your cabin and refills them, I do enjoy the split bath on DCL when traveling with the kids, but CCL has more storage space. So good & bad on both IMO.
As far as the CCL party atmosphere I have never experienced that either. I think it depends what ship you take and when you go. If you go on a ship like the Fascination on spring break you better be prepared for a party.
Good thing we all have choices!
Thanks for the heads up on the Miracle, it's nice to know one of thier newer ships does a short trip at a reasonable price. I can't always go when DCL offers the FL res. rates.

Whoa! Excuse Me! It wasn't meant as sarcasm! From your post, it sounded like you had cruised on Carnival ships! I was just trying to get some information regarding the ship since it appeared that you had sailed on many of their ships.

I'm not sure, but I don't think the Miracle does 3 night cruises. I believe they only do 7 night cruises, but from what I understand, they had 6 night cruises when they first started sailing.

For the original poster going on the Elation. I think you'll find it very beautifully done, even though it is an older ship. As far as party atmoshpere, maybe it's the time of the year that we went (July 4-11), but it was as much a family cruise as Disney. I can't talk for all CCL cruises, but the Elation was first class---once you get past all the "Ye' alls" and such (sorry Texans!).

Thanks Holly, you're right. The Miracle does not do the 3 day. I read a post wrong, it said *some* CCL cruises do it. Unfortunatley they are usually the older ships. I sailed the Fascination out of Miami on a 4 night western for only $700.00 overview, for the two of us. Great deal but I like the newer ships.

actually, the CCL Miracle is doing a run of 3 day cruises out of FT Lauderdale...there is one February 9th that looked good to me....I think it may be sold out...I'm not sure if this will continue or not...I'll ask my TA

I just saw that on Expedia.com. I wonder why they are doing that. Where will the Miracle be in the beginning of Feb.? There are no cruises showing for the beginning of the month, then they do one 3 day and then it goes back to the 7 day cruises out of Tampa. Could they be putting the ship into dry dock already? Or is it sailing to somewhere other than the Caribbean during the winter months?

That is very strange!! One web site didn't even have that cruise listed. Icruise had it, but it's nearly sold out. I can't go anyway. I wish they had them in teh summer!!
