How does this line compare with Disney?

Disclaimer: I am a Disney girl, just tried my first cruise (2/3 Wonder) and LOVED every minute.

We are trying to plan a 7-night for fall 2006. My in-laws would like to come along (connecting Cat 3 staterooms, hopefully). MIL has prior experience with RCCL, which she very much enjoyed. She has the impression that most cruise lines have the same stuff essentially.

So, how does a 7 night cruise compare in:

• cost
• room size
• food quality
• service
• amenities (spa, concierge service,etc)

I am waiting on a quote from my TA, which I will then plan to forward to MIL. Is she going to freak out at the cost (compared to what she's used to with RCCL)?

Yes, she will. We're looking at prices for next summer and for the price of an Owner's Suite on RCCL (only the Royal Suite is bigger) we can only get a Category 6 on DCL. So, the prices are going to be astronomical for her for a Category 3. We're actually thinking of sailing RCCL instead of DCL next summer because of the HUGE price difference. From what I've read, the two lines are similiar, especially if comparing the Voyager Class to DCL.

I'm a member of RC's Crown and Anchor Society and I love Rc! The boats that we've been on Sov of the Seas and Mariner were both beautiful. The staff was always made sure that you felt pampered. And the food was remarkable. I think it would be hard for me to go on another cruiseline now. I would like to go on DCL but why should I when I can have such a first class experience and not have as much $ invested? Hope that helps.
