Forget Mayan Calender 2012 prediction...

Dinosaurs a 65 million yeras ago. Or Caspian Tiger: extinct since 1970.

only dinosaurs didn't exactly go extinct.

birds, turtles alligators and crocks (the animal not the shoe) are direct descendants of dino's

now - just add frog dna and we can make them all live again ;)

for real lol

was watching some dino show months ago and there are a group dino people (what the heck are the called again) who are starting to think we're wrong as far as T-Rex is concerned. they have found bones and feathers on eggs and are now looking into if the mean T-Rex was actually more like an over grown chicken - they could tell the rex were male and sitting on the eggs not eating them

so maybe it was the male rex who watched over the eggs until the hatched.

can you see a giant chicken running around.

Harold Camping is a scary person. I"m a born again Christian and believe there will be an end to the world. But I also believe the bible says that no one knows the hour. And to beware false profits who predict things that don't happen. Harold Camping has predicted this before. I heard some of his followers interviewed on npr and they are young people with not much money who are actually planning to have their money completely run out on this date. Many, many people all over the world listen to family radio. They have many very good programs. But what is going to happen to the followers who are very on board with this if it doesn't happen? He will cause many people to lose their faith. He will be personally responsible for this. It's a shame because I think his heart is in the right place. But I have heard him teach unbibilical messages before.

then why do you keep listening to him?

if people stopped listening they he would go away. the fact they get people to listen and follow them regardless of what they say and however many times they've been proven wrong he manages to explain away his lie, inaccuracy, out right wrongness (is that a word) gives him more "power " to keep going

look what happened in LA with the religious (cult) who believed the world was going to end and the Comet Haley bop was going to hide a "spaceship" that would take believers to the new world but in order to get on it you had to kill yourself at the right moment.

Don't worry, lol. It is something put out by FamilyRadio.com (which I know nothing about, BTW) but it is some sort of ploy to get people to listen to their message or something. The Bible tells us NO ONE knows the time or day of the Second Coming of Christ.

I think they think they have some sort of formula to do the calculations to get this date. Uh, no. lol Oh, I see they are saying it is 7,000 years since God destroyed the world with flood (Noah), lol. Okey-dokey, then.

I'd plan on paying the house payment that month. :) But, one could plan a party for the night before if one would like. :)

Oh my! I just went to their website and looked at their homepage. I stay away from doom and gloom like this, while I believe there will be a Second Coming someday, I do not pretend to know when or believe anyone (or website) can tell us when either. I think this site is forgetting the Bible says "He will come as a thief in the night." No one knows when a thief is showing up, they don't usually call and tell you. ;)

Nicely put! Love your post. That is something my mother always said, "you will not know when it will happen." My mom was usually right!

The world is always ending according to someone. I saw a show in discovery about the year 2012 and all the information that they had to back it up was perceptions of random people!!! One had an instrument that he had done himself with nothing to back it up. Another was basing on a church build close where to Nostradamus lived but there was nothing certain that he meant that or if was decorations. For all we know he might not even ever seen that church!!! I just found it crazy how the leap into conclusion from not prove at all.

i think people pick a date and work backwards until the find something that sounds good.

6000 years ago what happened? nothing? how about 6500 then? still nothing how about 7000? ahhhh there we go - a huge flood.

no one will be too concerned we don't know the exact date we'll just make it up and they'll believe us.

could have been 7025 years ago could be 6990 years ago... close enough

as for Nostradamus, while i find hes "predictions interesting they are far from correct.

he lived in the very early part of the 1500's and yet he never specifically named a person place or date for any of his predictions.

those who really believe him say it's because he was scared of being punished if he was specific however he makes up names like Hister and people think it's Hitler. so if see the future and it's 500 years from your time why not just say the guys name?

also the same quatrain that was used as his "prediction" for what happened on 9/11 was also the same one they used for the Kennedy's.

something about brothers falling.

i could make a prediction right now about a massive earthquake or fire or even that a powerful family will fall and give it 500 years and they all will be true. doesn't mean i can see the future.

hell if i could i'd be picking the lotto numbers

there have been fires, floods, earthquakes, tornadoes, tsunamis, stuff falling from outer space, families feuding, nations being taken over, land masses falling into the sea for billions of years (ok well maybe not the people part). how hard is it to see that it could happen in the future?

ok - i'll go out on a limb and say that next summer there will be a major hurricane. people will be left homeless and it will cost millions and millions to clean up.

and really...is it the "end of the world?" or the "end of the age of Grace?" Big difference. :)

I think the man is getting up there in years and really, really wants the Second Coming to happen in his lifetime. I'm sure Jack Van Impe does too. Sounds like both of these people have spent the better part of their lives studying and waiting for it. One thing can be said, it is closer today than it was yesterday. :) And, I do think many Biblical things have come to pass that point to it. I just think it is not good to predict dates. JMHO

Actually no.
If it is never going to happen it cannot get any closer!
YMMV.

Are the authorities aware of these false profits? The Federal Reserve? The SEC?
There could be some insider trading going on!

I do believe we are living in the end times, but "judgment day" does not happen until 7 years of tribulation. Since the rapture hasn't happened, we are at least 7 years away from judgment day. Maybe they are talking about the rapture, but I don't think we are that close to that either. Although the bible does say noone knows the day or hour, it also says we should be mindful and watch for the signs that are spelled out in the bible, and a lot of those signs are abundant right now. I've read a few books on end time prophecy and it is very interesting. I try not to worry too much about it, but I am paying attention to what's going on in the world.

interesting.

could you be more specific about what signs are in abundant right now?

and are then different ones from the past or are there just more of them?

and no i'm not being snotty or sarcastic - i'm curious

I don't know how much I can post here, because religion is supposedly a forbidden topic, but I would be happy to send you a link to the prophecy website of a man who attends our church. He is a scientist who has researched prophecy as such. He went into it with no preconceived ideas, so his view is interesting. He has also written a book on the subject, and the proceeds are donated.

He has quite a few audio lectures there that go into depth about the signs that are happening right now that were prophesied in the bible, as well as a daily blog that notes news that he thinks will play into the prophesies. I'll PM you the link, as I might get in trouble for putting it on the boards.

We saw one of the van with 5/21/11 on the side yesterday. It said that the 21st was the day of the rapture.

I don't believe that. Nowhere in scripture does it give a date. That is a select group of people trying to get attention, IMHO. Noone knows the date, but we can and should watch for the signs given in the bible. Now, you CAN predict the second coming, because it will be 7 years exactly after the rapture of the church. That is spelled out in the bible.

Now, if I see a war starting over in Israel in the next few weeks, I will come on here and say that 5/21 may be right. Either way, I am ready:thumbsup2
