Hi

Who gives the best exchange rate and the best service when you are getting $s and Travellers Cheques?

Any help would be great.

Thanks

:confused3 :thanks:

I always order mine from Travelex online and then pick them up at the airport. Their online usually gives a better rate than they sell on the day of travel. I compare travelex with M&S and the Post Office and onlinefx and travelex usually comes out better.

we watch the sites, i bought my last lot at m and s when the rate was 1.96
they came by secure post next day!

ive used tham a few times and they do a good service, id ratherhave my dollars before i get to the airport, but then i like to be organised, changing them up as we go along means we cant spend it before we go.

I genrally use no1currency.com - its a UK based company (through Cheque centres) on most high streets. They seem to give the best rates around (apart from web onl y corporate/business suppliers)........currently as I am writing this they are offering $1.911 to the £, both cash and trav cheques.....no commission (best to call if you want a large amount to make sure its in stock)

I just ordered the 32 day rate from Crown Currency Exhange so got 1.972 but paid £15 fee.

It works out at $1975 for £1016 (about 1.95 ish)

Note that you have to send the money off and wait for your dollars so while I've never seen any bad reviews, there is an element of risk attached.

It's an extra $50 in my pocket so thought I'd give it a go.

Just get Nationwide credit card and saver yourself the hassle of changing money. You get full interbank rate with no charges or fees, so around $1.96 just now. a lot safer than cash and if the rate goes up you benifit even more. Downside is if the rate goes down you wish you had bought the Dollars but its a lot safer.

That's why I bought £1000 now and will spend the rest on nationwide cards when we're there, best of both worlds.
