Ok...I've gone over my car troubles previously...but after shelling out $621 for a new transmission, less than a week later, my car wanted to die as I left from a stop sign. Now, I drive with my foot on the gas at all times....if I slow down, it wants to die. I have to break and gas at the same time... AND...it jars something terrible. My whole steering wheel jerks...I'm guessing bad tires or alignment??
Then...there is this beeping noise that has happened since I bought it. Know what it is??? A 97 Ford Aspire, and it has issues. It's NOT seatbelts, door ajar, lights or anything obvious like that. When my trans died....(on the expressway in rushhour traffic I might add), the beep was continuous. Now it's only every so often, about 5 beeps about 4 times in a row. I can just be starting the car, or half hr into driving.. going 20 miles an hr, or 55. (My car would fall off it's frame if I did over 65...LOL)
Well...they say it's the distributor cap I need to replace to keep it from shutting off when I'm at a stop.. soo...it's between 200 and 700 more bucks!! I need it to pass emissions tomorrow!!
Any ideas on if this will fix it?? Or just make me smile and forget about the crappy car

No advice, but I wanted to tell you that my sister bought a lemon Ford Explorer in 1998. It was brand-new when she bought it. The car was falling apart from the beginning, and the dealership and Ford did NOTHING to help her. None of us will ever buy a Ford again because of this.

It is because it is a FORD! I will never again buy another one. We had a Tempo. I can walk up to a total stranger and tell them everything that has and will be wrong with their car and they always agree with me! A friend has one of those Escort X4 or whatever that new model was a few years ago. Anyway, she had problems with it from the beginning. There is an occassional horn noise from the engine. The engine also *sinks* really bad after you start it. I have never seen an engine do this. They also have had the transmissin replaced and a few other problems. The dealership was waiting for the warranty to expire so they would not have to repair the car. Bad business.

My Windstar also had a beep. If I was under 10 miles an hour or sitting still it beeped non-stop. With 3 young children and a beep I thought I was going to be insane! Finally, after many many trips to the garage it stopped beeping. Also, my interior lights would stay on all the time. Again, many many trips to the garage, they were never able to fix it so we just disconnected the lights. I could go on and on with all the problems. I learned NO more FORDS, EVER!

F O R D=Found On Road Dead or....

F O R D=Fix Or Repair Daily (this is my fave)

We owned a Ford Windstar for 1 year. After spending way too much money on repairs (which included a new engine) we got rid of the damn thing.

I knew Fords were bad back when I was in HS, but I figure, they had to have improved after 20+ years, they were still in business. NOT. At least not my experience, and I have a friend who got rid of her Windstar for the same reason.

I have heard that the Ford trucks are really good, but a truck won't do me any good, not with 3 kids.

Well, we had an Explorer for 3 years and had no problems. Traded it in for a newer one in June. :)

I've owned 7 vehicles in my lifetime, all but two of them Fords, and I've always been very happy with Ford. I have an Explorer now (almost a year old), and the only problems I've had are kind of nitnoid things...back power window has gone out twice, the outside temp wasn't working, and now a speaker is out. But I've never had any problems getting those things fixed. The only real problem I had was when the dealership didn't want to provide a loaner while it was in for repairs. DH was out of town, and I needed a car. But I called Ford directly and complained, and while they said that they had no control over individual dealerships, the dealership called me less than an hour later, offering a loaner.

I actually have had nothing but positive experiences with Ford, except for my 2000 Focus and its large amount of recalls. But I blame that on it being a first year car because other year Focuses have not had the same problems.

Sorry Ive owned many fords over the years never had any major problems.... now the one Chevy and one chrylser I owned that another story.... nothing but headaches from those two.

Ford Chevy and Dodge all have/had their problems. My friend bought a new04 Avalanche and has had nothing but problems, his wife bought a Town and Country and it burns through front tires every 4000 miles. I had a Chevy Blazer that went through oil sending units. I traded for a Dodge and my transmission went at 9000 miles. My wife had a Mazada 626 and she blew her engine at 20000miles.

What I am trying to say is it doesnt matter what brand you buy you can have problems.

We have not owned anything but Fords and we have never ever had a problem at all.We have had focuses all thre way to F 250s and Expeditions. We have an 05 Escape and an 04 F 150.My DM and DMIL both have Focuses. We Love our Fords.

My second Windstar also did this. It used to drive me nuts! It was related to the door ajar light, and for some reason it thought a door was open. Freeway driving was fine, but hit a bunch of stoplights, and ACK!!!

That said, we have owned 10 Fords, two of them currently, and that is the only problem we have ever had.

My first brand new car was a 1989 Ford Mustang. It was a great car. We finally sold it after my parents gave us there not so old, old car. It had over 150,000 miles on it and we still see it on the road driven by the guy that bought it from us 2 years ago.

In 1996 we bought a Ford Contour. That was a peice of crap! We traded it in 2 years later because I was sick of taking into the shop every month.

Now I want a 2005 Mustang. That is a sweet car!
