I have a 2006 E-350 with the 6.8L V10. It is the regular length box, 12 passenger van. This van came from the factory with an aux transmission cooler and ps cooler, but does not have a factory receiver.

Anyone have experience adding a hitch to these vans? Am looking to see what my options are, including what class hitch others have added. I may need to relocate the spare tire...so if you have face this what did you do with it? Thanks.

U should go to RV.net. THe folks here are amateurs.

Dave, Dave, Dave. Larry never looks on the Community Board. I guess you really don't want an expert answer, do you?

The otters will give you a good answer if you give them a good beer. :drinking1

My BIL has a similar rig and he moved his spare to Kansas City. I understand the spare likes it there........

I would move the spare tire around so it hung over the back of my belt instead of the front. It would look better when cruising for chicks in a bar.

You should just strap the spare onto the top of the van w/bungee cords. Problem solved. ;)

LOL at Rob! The firefly Ray in the Princess and the Frog said, "Women like a man with a big back porch." Oops that was off topic and completely unhelpful. My bad.

I still don't know what a ps is and why it needs to be cooled... :confused3

Poodle Skirt?

You can get a class IV or V hitch at Etrailer.com for around $240. You should not need to move the spare.

Thanks for the website...I had bought a hitch there before for another vehicle and had forgotten the website.

could I just use duct tape?

Duct tape is not strong enough in the rain. You need 2,000 feet of eternabond and a safety pin (as a backup).

Let's face it, who needs a spare? If a tire goes flat you just abandon the van on the side of the road and rent another one until someone steals the one you left behind and you can collect the insurance. Buy a new van, and insist that the deal include new tires.

Problem solved. :wizard:

What is a ps and why does it need to be cooled? ;)

Pink slime. It's the key ingridient in road kill soup. I don't know why he needs it cooled, unless he's not man enough to eat it hot.

No, no, no, no ps stands for Puddle Splasher. You need a cooler so it does not cause an excessive amount of steam on the windows.
