Visiting Oct this year. Does IOA still admit Universal hotel guests an hour before official opening and - as a 'normal' guest - is it best to wait until later in the day to attempt riding FJ? Also I heard somewhere that you can queue up to get the equivalent of fast-passes for FJ .. is this right or not?:wizard:

Yes, hotel guests still get in an hour before regular guests. FJ gets very busy in the morning/early afternoon so it's best to save it for later. There's no place to get fastpasses anywhere at Universal- they only sell Express Passes; however Forbidden Journey does not accept these. The only way to make your wait shorter is to use the Single Rider line :)

October is a slow time of year though, especially on a weekday. We were in IOA in October 2011 as regular guests - got to the gates 10 minutes before standard opening on a Tuesday morning, there were maybe 50 people ahead of us. Walked straight to Forbidden Journey, rode it four or five times in a row within 90 minutes.

In October you shouldn't have any crowd problems. I have been twice in late October and we always go to FJ first thing in the morning and usually walk on or have a 5 minute wait. I have also been In January and April and have never waited until later in the day to visit HP or FJ. Actually closer to lunch and early afternoon is when that area is more busy with ppl. I try to be over and done with the HP area mid morning and move on before the crowds build.
