Forbidden Journey Single Rider Line

So the single rider line secret door is in the gap where the light is shining from---and the main entrance is through the lit archway?

In this picture there is one person standing in front of what I assume is the entrance to the pathway to the secret single rider entrance and the second couple is walking towards the main entrance.

Can those in the know confirm this or am I totally confused too?

You have it about right. That top one is obviously concept art, but that lit area is generally where it is. Your bottom pic is even better--yes, it is where the one person is. I'm working on finding a good link or video to better illustrate.

I think this is what it looks like from the above person's point-of-view, can't quite remember--sorry for the immense size....

I also fairly certain this is the crevice that is directly under that high bridge spanning two parts of the castle.

So where is the door? Right at the back of that pathway where the wheelchairs are? It looks like there might be a door there.

Maybe, but I want to say it was just right of the wheelchairs out-of-view. I remember it being pretty obvious at some point between this pic's POV and the wheelchairs.

I did it once or twice last July so my memory's fuzzy. It must not be that big of a time-saver since I haven't done it again since.

If you haven't found it by Labor Day (when I'm there next), maybe I'll take a couple pics to illustrate better and open up a Photobucket account for ya. ;)

mesa, i'm just playing with ya'

i have a standing joke with some homies.
i always say that nobody reads my crap......:laughing:since i write novels and not 2 sentences.......

looks like you do read my stuff.........just wanted to see if anyone noticed....

i had a boring morning.
i needed some excitement in my life today.

I'm just glad I started an actual interesting thread!! Secret doors and unmarked stairs - right up my alley!!
I am not going until Thanksgiving, so anyone that goes before Nov must give us more info about the path and the secret door. And please be nice to a Disney gal headed to the dark side for the very first time. So all this talk of high bridges, crevices and wheelchair parking is all foreign to me. :hippie:

Thanks again for all the info.

metro mom, i hope you are staying onsite if you are going on T-day.

the park will have lots and lots and lots of peeps in it that day....

you will have fun at the darkside.
be sure to come back here and tell us how it was for you.

and yes, you created a very interesting thread!

macraven - unfortunately I am not staying on-site. We are staying at Windsor Hills for a week and sneaking over to IOA either Monday or Tuesday of Thanksgiving week (probably Tuesday.) My kids are too small for WWOHP but I am a huge fan, so my hubby has agreed to keep the kids entertained while I ride FJ in SINGLE RIDER!!

There lies my obsession to do this in the most efficient yet enjoyable manner possible!

The secret door :yay: the secret door

I won't be there til mid September, so perhaps whoever gets there first can take some good pictures for everyone else.

i'll be behind youse.
i hit orlando end of september...

i know.
let's send metro in to make sure that is the secret door.....

I already made my pb account, so I'm committed now. ;) If no one beats me to it, I'll link some pics in a new thread when I get back Sep 5 or soon after.

Is there an expense account here I can charge my newly-redesignated "business trip" to?

do you take monopoly money?

So where is the door? Right at the back of that pathway where the wheelchairs are? It looks like there might be a door there.

That's where the door is, but I've never seen the wheelchairs sitting there, The crevice is not hard to find. The reason I found the door the first time, is on my first visit to Harry Potter World I was wandering around taking pictures. I saw the crevice and thought it might have some open windows to look into the castle, so just wandered back there. There are not any windows into that mountain, but a CM was coming out of the door just as I got to it. At first I thought I might have wandered into a backstage area. He asked if he could help me and I told him I was just taking some pictures before getting in line. He asked if I wanted to use the single rider line and when I said yes, he said, "Here's a shortcut" and opened the door for me. I asked if it was open all the time and he said yes.

Once you walk into the gate between the two hogs, immediately veer left and start looking for the first break in the mountain. Walk into the crevice all the way to the back and you'll see the wooden door. Open the door and you are right where the stairs start to go straight up. Look to the right and you can see the mob of people and the yellow rope. If you do have problems finding it though, you could always go into the single rider line the regular way---entering the castle, go past the lockers, veer left, find the yellow rope, turn left, and then right at the base of the stairs (as they turn right to go upward), you'll see the wooden door. Go back outside through that door and follow the crevice back out to see where it comes out on the outside of the mountain.

Hmm... I'll have to go hunt this. Passes are still good for a couple months.

i contacted a homie that is at universal now on a vacation stay.

hopefully, pictures will be taken of the outside entrance door/area.

let's hoping......

I was there last February and didn't bother with SR queue because of concern that they would direct me to a "non-modified" seat. The modified seats barely work for me, and I figured I couldn't request one since the whole point of SR is just to fill whatever random seats happen to be empty. Also there was such an overwhelming horde of people all over the place, esp. in the locker area, that I just sort of gave up and got in line with everyone else.

But now I am curious to see this alternative entrance to SR. I will shoot some photos, though I have really cheap camera and don't know how to post photos anyway. If I can figure it out, they should be up next week.:wizard:

I'll have to hunt for this "secret" door as well next month. I'm so confused having read this thread :confused3 , but excited all the same to have a little mission to complete :). Three of us will be riding, but we're down for single rider if we get the chance to experience the FJ more than once!

i just heard from rpbert who is at rph on vacation.

he went to ioa to take a pic for me to post.

i included his notes.

Took this pic, but had no glasses with me , and settings on the camera had moved, but will give you an idea of where it is, like the other poster said, its the first crevice , and go right to the back and its the door in front of you, there is also another door to the left , never tried it, but we went through the door to the single rider, luckily the queue was up the stairs a bit so we just joined it, but a few minutes later the queue stretched back beyond the door.
feel free to repost the pic if its suitable. Not a great pic but lets you know where it is

i'm guessing that in about another week, the secret door won't be as secret anymore...........

but, i'll try it when i am there in october.

thank you again rpbert!!

you saved the day.
