can Anyone confirm this?? Website shows seasonal maintenance 12/1-12/18 but all the other 3rd party sites do not show this closure

This kind of stuff annoys the hell out of me. We've had our trip planned for about 8 months, and HP was one of our big draws to Orlando. I've looked at ride closures for months, and this wasn't shown until just recently. I assuem that's why they do these things without notice - so people have already committed to going before they find out. Seems bad for customer morale to me.

This is our story to a tee!! One of the main reasons we are staying onsite was to get early entry for HP rides. So disappointing!! I haven't been before and was quite excited for this ride.:(

Since it says it on their own website, my guess is it is for real.

EXACTLY!

It's why you find out food courts or pools are closed last minute so you are too close to easily change your hotel.

Yes, but in my job - if someone is unhappy, we will usually give them a refund, even if it means we lose a little bit of profit. That way, we keep a customer. In this case, it seems that they are more interested in making sure that the customer is stuck paying them money, and they don't care if that customer is unhappy about it. That doesn't make for long-term clients, IMO.

This is a business model of its own, always been this way and it doesn't seem to hurt them.

For Disney, they clearly have no focus on the repeat demographic. They seem to be on track for that one time big spending family. That family is probably not focused on any one attraction. Their repeaters that offer anything to are AP and having been one for years I feel our perks are improving. We go enough that a closure or disaster like ROL are tolerable.

EVERYTHING in fine print is subject to change and no one should ever go thinking otherwise. Rehab scheduling has to happen some time and there will always be folks upset.

I get you are upset, I understand your complaint but it is common in this industry and even some other travel industries.

Yes, everything you say makes sense. Thank you. Still, you are an AP customer, and I am a guy from the other side of the US that gets a "big" vacation every 4-5 years - probably won't be back to Orlando for 10+ years, at least. So the impact to each of us varies considerably. So, yeah, I'm upset.

Come to think about it, though, I guess it's smart of them to not care about my repeat business for this very reason. Doesn't help make me any less mad, though.

Totally hear you, I take rare trips and know how you put your heart and planning in it. As an AP 8 hours away most the time, I get aggravated too. In August had one day and FP for Frozen ride. Broken. DS was very upset! But as you say, I'll be back soon.

I don't see a fix to it, all I can say is NEVER plan a trip for something that doesn't exist like ROL. If it's not open, not running smoothly etc, it's not fully there. And hope for best on all else.

PS Think Diagon Alley is WAY BETTER than Forbidden.

Well that's good hear, at least. Thanks!
