I know this has been talked about a lot on here but I'm still confused about what you can have with you when you go to ride FJ. When we go to IOA I just plan on taking an over the shoulder purse that i consider relatively small with me....will I be able to keep that with me as we ride??? I'm trying to figure out if it's a good idea to get a locker as soon as we get there or not?

Over the shoulder articles are considered loose and not allowed. If you can fasten it around your waist as a fanny pack that would be fine. The storage compartment in your seat is large enough for sunglasses and a small camera...not likely big enough for a small purse.

You'll need to use the free lockers at the ride entrance. They will not let you take it on the ride.

There are free lockers at the entrance and they are very strict about not allowing loose articles on this ride. I don't remember any storage compartments in the seat. The way you approach this ride is similar to haunted mansion at disney where you step onto a moving belt and the ride cars (benches) never stop moving. You have to move rather quickly to get into your seat. I can't imagine having enough time to place items in a storage bin.

There are lockers outside all the major attractions. They are free for a set number of minutes (depending on the wait time of the ride) and you access the locker with a fingerprint scan. The lockers cost $ if you use them for longer. I have wondered tho - if i go over the time limit - how would i pay? guys can keep their wallets in their pockets, but us ladies are locking up our bags... hence our $ and credit cards are inside the locker...

On dragon challenge (I think thats the new name - used to be dueling dragons) they ask you to remove flip flop type of shoes but made us carry them on the ride instead of leaving them on the platform. kind of awkward.

I ordered one of the wee little Universal packs that you can either attach to your beltloop or wear like a little purse. I'm hoping to be able to get away with just that, but I'm wondering if it would be okay to have a small cross-body purse that you wear UNDER a zippered sweatshirt or fleece. It wouldn't be able to fly around at all. Any thoughts? (Probably not relevant for folks there now, but in December, we might need some type of top layer.)

I don't think you'll have a problem with stuff worn under a sweatshirt as long as it is small enough that it doesn't interfere with the restraints.

If your money is in your locker and you go over the free time limit, you can ask one of the TM's and they'll unlock it for you without you having to pay.

For the Dragons thing, if you notice, the trains load and unload at different points in the station. You don't get off where you got on. So if there are shoes all over the platform, you're gonna have guests wandering all over the platform retrieving shoes, which is a safety hazard when the trains ARE moving, and interferes with the TM's at that ride. Another reason is if the ride were to stop on the lifthill or brakes for any reason, and you have to walk down the lift or brakes, you need your shoes, otherwise you'd be walking barefoot on steel stairs and over rocks and gravel.

Thanks Tim for the explanations. I saw workers near all the locker stations. I can see how the shoes would cause a problem at the dragons coasters.

I have thought and thought about how I could go bag-less in the park esp. in WWOHP but it just isn't going to happen! I think for our touring, I will use the free lockerS on the rides that a carry on isn't allowed. My only exception is for FJ. I don't think I want to deal with the mass of people in front of those lockers. I am considering paying for the lockers in front of the park. Can anyone tell me were they are located and the cost? Is there a flat fee?

I always wear flip flops down there (no way am I wearing hot tennis shoes:rotfl:). What do you do with your flip flops on FB and DD (sit on them, slip them onto your wrists:confused3)?

Do you mean Forbidden Journey? If so, they just tell you to scrunch your toes up. Mine never fell of and I rode 14 times already.

I rode on Saturday and it was my first time ever with flip flops on FJ. I took mine off and had them behind me. My back was resting on them. When we were near the end, I took them out and held them in my hand. I was trying to put them back on but figured that I wouldn't have much luck with the swooping motion and what not. I rushed to put them back on since the unload goes reallly fast.

I just felt more comfortable holding them rather than letting my feet dangle and possibly lose them. Especially since if I lost them, I'd probably cause the ride to shutdown.
