First, is it one can of coke, one cup of brown sugar and one can of crushed pineapple?

Second, can you use a precooked spiral cut ham? Like from Sam's?

Just checking before I slapped that thing in a crockpot. Ellie May didn't want to ruin dinner for my entire family - LOL!

thank you bunches - and Merry Christmas!

Oh I dont know about that. We cook our hams in the crockpot but we use a cup of water and then put the ham in. We use the shank portion ham and let it cooks until you can shred it and its done:love: . It is the best ham ever. My mouth is watering now thinking about it. We get the Sister Shubert yeast rolls and make ham rolls it is to die for. Now I cannot wait until Christmas Eve.

We use the Gwaltney I think and it is a shank portion or butt portion hams they are great. They are not precooked. I put it in the crockpot and cook it on high about 3 or 4 hours or you can cook it on low for longer than that.
It truly is Wonderful. We get ours at Ingles or Bilos dont know if you have either of those where you live.

It is so funny we are getting together with DHs family Christmas eve and my Dsister is going to go with us so she can have some ham rolls:rotfl2:
Do you use a spiral cut that is already cooked?

Thank you - we love ham biscuits at my mom's on Christmas eve! I will be thinking of you and your ham rolls on Christmas!

Anybody else have any comments or suggestions? Just looking to confirm that this will be okay and not a disaster.

A precooked spiral sliced ham just needs to be warmed up, then there is usually a glaze packet with it. Make up the glaze and follow the directions.
The only hams I have done in a crock pot weren't precooked.

I've only ever done a pre-cooked ham in my crockpot. I just wrap it in foil, throw in some Sprite or water and let it go on low until I'm ready to serve it.

thanks for your replies. got the sort-of recipe on these boards and thought it sounded good, but then realized I had no idea what kind of ham that person used. I think i will go for it and hope for the best!

This is the first holiday I'll be using my crockpot to help with side dishes. Don't know why I never thought of this before. Duh! I'm making rice pilaf in my smaller crockpot so one less thing to make at the last minute.

Also, I recently learned online that you can make mashed potatoes the day before & reheat in the oven day of. Another last minute stresser you can eliminate. All these years.....who knew! Google "make ahead mashed potatoes" for amounts of cream cheese & sour cream & how to.

I'm doing a pork roast in rotiserrie, so I can't help with your ham, but sounds yummy.
