When I weighed in last week the lady told me I should go for life time. She couldn't really go into it because there were people lined up behind me waiting. Can anyone fill me in?
This is as much as I know, because I'm not there yet, either.
After you reach your goal weight, you go on maintenance for 6 weeks. If you stay within 2 pounds of your goal during that time, you become "lifetime". After that, you just have to weigh-in once a month, and as long as you stay within 2 pounds of your goal, you don't have to pay for the weigh-ins.
Now, what I DON'T know, is if you have to pay for attending meetings, or are they free too?
If you are more than 2 pounds above your goal, do you have to start paying again? And is it the same price as someone who has not yet achieved "lifetime"??
What happens if you don't weigh-in every month? do you have to pay the next time you go to weigh-in???
Disneyaholic, you are absolutely right as to the qualifications. Set a goal weight within the WW range for your height, reach it and maintain (no more than two pounds over) for six weeks. Then you just weigh in at least once a month.
When you are a lifetime member and have weighed in for the month and maintained your weight, you can attend as many WW meetings as you like free of charge.
If you are more than 2 pounds over your goal weight, or have missed monthly weigh ins, you pay for each meeting/weigh-in. There is no charge for missed meetings. The meeting price is the same as for any other WW attendee.
How do I know? I'm a lifetime member who maintained for a while, fell off the wagon, and am doing it all over again...
Originally posted by bicker I wonder if my lifetime membership is still good. I earned it in 1988, after losing 75 pounds and keeping it off for a few months.
Sure! There's no expiration on lifetime memberships- they're good for a lifetime!
Just come to a meeting and weigh in, pay whatever the weekly meeting fee is at that location, and then you can start monthly weigh in and attend meetings for free as long as you're within 2 pounds of goal weight.
1988? Are you still maintaining the weight? If so, that's awesome!! (If not, you did it before and you know you can do it again!)
I think the proper wording would be something like:
"no more than 2 pounds over your goal weight."
As an aside, WW requires you to provide a doctor's note if you want to participate in any of the meetings if you are more than 5 pounds below the minimum of the weight range for your height. I've never had to worry too much about that!
