For Wii. Is new Donkey Kong Country a fun game?

Have not played this one, but had the previous version - Donkey Kong Country for Super Nintendo - LOVED that one - and looking at reviews for this new version it looks very true to the original. Looks like one I may need to get!

Thanks for your reply Sorsha. I liked that the review said two can play, and if one player is less experienced they can hitch a ride through the hard parts.

I am not a kid and I haven't played it yet so I don't know how much this is going to help but....I CAN'T WAIT TO BUY IT! I had the Donkey Kong games for the Super Nintendo and they were so much fun I am cheap so I won't buy it until the price comes down but I will be one happy girl when it does My kiddos (7&4) want it as well and it looks like it will be easy for them to catch on to. Looks like tons of fun...

OK, I looked more at my old game system last night - forgive me and my lack of technical knowledge, I am NOT a video game person LOL.

The older system that we own a version of Donkey Kong Country on is Nintendo Game Cube. Not that it makes much difference. Anyhow, the nice thing about that, is that I can play the Game Cube games in my Wii system, so we still use it. And it still is one of my favortie games.

And yes, the ability for the younger player to tag along is very nice - they can do that (I think in a more limited capacity) on the game Cube game too... Diddy Kong can jump on Donkey Kong's shoulders and ride along... Donkey can even use Diddy as an attack, he can grab Diddy off his shoulders and toss him at things and knock them down - doesn't hurt Diddy but can be an effective attack - and can even help the pair to get up to higher places.

Great game!! I am looking forward to the upgrade!
