How's the signals in WDW? I'm contemplating not bringing the 2 way radio and just use the phones between DH & I. We have that unlimited family plan. BTW 2 years ago, DD7 was lost briefly in DL and that's how the CM found us by calling my cell phone.

I was there this past May and had no problems at all..got calls from back home and from hubby inside the park (he uses AT&T and kept getting cut off so ended up not even carrying his phone with him but called me from pay phones instead). I even called back home from inside Its a Small World just to make the song get stuck in my uncle's head!!Pinkbounc :bounce: !!!!

I used mine last May and again in DTD last November without any problems at all. I had such a strong signal that even in Space Mtn, I could feel it vibrating in my purse! We won't bring the radions this time, the phones were easier, imho. We both have national calling plans so it won't cost a penny extra.

You have to keep in mind whether the phones work well at the resort you're staying at. I've found the phones work well in the parks but not so well at Old Key West. I can't remember how well it worked at Port Orleans. The phone seemed to work (relatively) well at Grand Floridian.

I work in a print shop with my mom, dad and brother.... I never thought to call him from Its a Small World... what an excellent idea LOL. He can not stand that ride (40 year old who thinks he is to old for it LOL) anyway my computer is programed to play it every morning when I come into work and turn on my computer. HE HATES IT. I also have the countdown clock on top of my computer and remind him everyday how many days I have left.... your magnifcent idea has brought "evil" to a whole new level in our little game THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TELLING IT!!!!!

I am so excited now....

Oh by the way, thanks for starting this thread, we also use Verizon and were also curious!

Carol, my plan backfired, however!! My uncle is a WAAAAAY bigger Disney fan than anyone I know so he enjoyed humming that song the rest of the day! But I still can't help wanting to think that I gave him a little twinge of jealousy that I was there and he was not!! I tend to think of myself as a very nice, warm person but I gotta admit I like your evil little game and think I am going to start playing it myself as we plan on heading back to Disney in April (but he's going this Dec :( )

BTW, my phone also worked great at the AS Sports Resort. The only place I remember having a lower signal was in DTD as I was talking to a friend back in NY and she was breaking up (I was in the toy store), but the call still went through.

We ran into problems on our last trip...I turned on national service before we left. My phone and DH's worked great...but DS couldn't get a signal. We left him at Six Flags Over Georgia while we played golf on our trip to Orlando from Chicago. We were going to call him when we'd finished our game to pick him up. When I called, his phone rang and rang but he never picked up. Turns out his system settings were set to Home Area so his phone couldn't work. Fortunately the cast member in lost parents let him use her cell phone to call us and we were able to reconnect!

My advice is to check the phones actually work before you split up if you plan to use them to find each other!

We had problems when we were there in August. It was also the time of the big blackout that effected the northeast so maybe that had something to do with our hit and miss service. Three of us had Verizon and two of us had Nextel...Nextel was fine, but those of us with Verizon did not get the best service when calling each other. However, to call home in NJ from our resort room in PortOrleans or from the parks... my phone worked like a charm. Go figure!

LOL....

Can you hear me now...... LOL

I love to call my DH and say that to him and when he says yes, I say good and hang up.... kind of a little game. Keeps the fun alive.
