For those worried about crowd levels in late sept - does this help?

I just went on to the main website, and rooms were still available at all of the resorts except for 2 of the all stars (this for the time of sept. 23rd to oct 2nd) How bad can the dining plan effect really be if it can even sell out all of the value resorts, which appears to be the target market?

I know I have been worried reading these boards lately about the DDP effect, but hopefully, once the kids go away back to school, we'll have our nice sept. touring time back to us! :)

I sure hope you're right!!! We're at the Pop 9/23-9/30, and I've been hearing about a lot of folks switching over to the Pop because of the pool situation at the AS Movie. I'm crossing my fingers that the parks will be manageable. Our last 2 trips were in January when the place was practically empty (by WDW standards).

I did the same thing yesterday, except for my dates (Sept 9 - Sept 15). Every hotel had openings. All the values still had standard rooms available; the only moderate that only had standard rooms available was POFQ, the rest you could book any room level. And as for the deluxes, well I don't know much about them, but almost all of them had standard rooms available (I can't remember which ones, I think there were 2, specifically), and they all had a variety of rooms (views, concierge, etc).

Good news, thanks for posting. I am going for a long weekend the last week in September. I only booked a couple of weeks ago, but when I called could still get an AP rate for MK view at CR.

This is GREAT to hear! after reading all of the posts about the crowd levels recently, i was worried there'd be swarms of people when we go september 17th... this eases the worry a little bit now knowing that there's a chance it won't be as busy then as it has been recently!! :dance3:

I too am hoping for non-crowded parks. We are going the last week os Sept. We went that exact week last year and there were hardly any crowds, it was wonderful.

Good news to hear. This is our first trip in September. :woohoo: I, too, was worried about the crowds for the end of Sept. The info sets my mind at ease.
Thanks!

This of course does not mean that anyone without current reservations should go out and book a trip ;)

glad to hear there is still some room availability- for my end of September trip... that I booked too late to benefit from the free dining

9.23 --> 10.3!!!!

IM GETTING SO EXCITED! :woohoo:

Glad to hear the good news. I keep reading how crowded it is and hot. Lets hope last week of Sept is nice.

Sept. 27-Oct. 2 POFQ

This helps to set my mind at ease as well. We will be at POP 9/22-9/28 and were really looking forward to it being less crowded. :cheer2:

Me too!
We will be at AS Music from 9/23 - 9/30.

BTW, TigerLaw, which two value resorts were booked? I am hoping it is not my AS Music. We prefer this one just because it is more relaxed and quiet than the others.

Another family at Pop 9/23-9/30... My 6 year old twins are still in the dark and I'm just dying to tell them!

Back in June I tried booking Pop or ASMo and they were both booked for the dates we will be traveling (9/27-9/30) but ASMu and ASSp both had availability. I have a feeling several families have since switched from ASMo to other values because of the pool situation.

We are staying at AKL and the Standard and Pool View rooms are booked for those dates, but there are still plenty of other rooms available. From what I've read there are very few Standard rooms at AKL which is probably why those are booked (people like me who can only afford AKL if it's a cheap room! :rotfl: )

I don't think Disney will be empty the end of September, but I do think it will be much less crowded than it has been this past week. Families go to Disney in summer before school starts and with free dining, those numbers jumped up dramatically. But many families won't/can't take the kids out of school in Sept. but I am...3 weeks after my DD starts (but we're only going for 4 days).

we're one of those that switched from movies to music... hope it's not jam packed... still considering upgrading to a moderate...

i've been checking the sites that give "crowd levels" and have not seen any increase in their predictions for our dates (9/28-10/4) as they suggest 4s and 5s not even a 6 or 7 in sight ('til 10/6) :)

We just booked the All Star Sports yesterday for the end of September. Our son is playing in a street hockey tournament at the WideWorld of Sports complex September 29-October 1.
