April fares were released today. We are looking to fly out of White Plains the 3rd week of April. This is not Easter week. Last year we got great rates. This year I would be happy with something reasonable. Currently, it would cost close to $800 per person to fly 4/16-4/24. I can not pay that with 4 people flying. Do you think the rates will drop much?? At this point I could fly cheaper on Delta but that is still out of my price range! TIA for any input.

I think the rates will drop. I've been flying Jetblue alot this year and during the last release I didn't jump on the fares when they were released. It was $99 each way. I put the flight into my Yapta and about 2-3 weeks later I got an email telling me it dropped to $74. I still didn't jump on it and about a week after that it dropped to $54. That worked for me. I'm holding tickets for my trip next month and got my flight down for $74 and hadn't really seen any movement. Just this week it dropped to $69 and I got a $30 credit to my account. I'm guessing Jetblue is still tweaking their fares as I've not even gotten an email telling me that their schedule was released. I need to purchase my March return flight and right now it's $89. I'm waiting to see if it gets better. I've seen some pretty high fares on their new schedule, but feel confident that we'll see a decent sale soon. They have to compete and right now the rates out of Dulles on AT and SW are much better, so I'll wait it out. Lucky for me I'm not going during Easter. (Going the first full week of March and the last week of April/first week of May).

The JB prices do not appear to be dropping out of ROC and SYR. I just checked the 2 direct flights I booked yesterday out of ROC and they have increased by over $388. :scared1: Most of the indirect flights now are well over $200. Most of the SYR flights are over $300 US. People are paying the higher prices during the Canadian March Break! :confused3

By any chance is that week a popluar week for school vacations in your area? The 3rd week in April is vacation week for most of New England. In my experience, around here those fares do not go down because JB knows they will be able to fill the planes that week. If it's not a school vacation week in your area, then perhaps the prices will drop. Also, can you be flexible with your dates? JB seems to have lower fares on Tuesdays & Wednesdays.

Looks like you are looking at a popular vacation time. I don't know if they will drop or drop enough to make a difference. I didn't see much of a drop from when I booked my April 2009 trip through the day we traveled.

it is a popular week for vacation in CT although many schools are off the week of Easter instead. We were looking to fly out of NY as they usually have their break around Easter, but maybe it is different this year. I won't pay $800 each for a plane ticket, so if they don't come down we won't be able to go. I guess there is still hope for SW out of BDL, but last year they were high because of school vacations.

My trip is planned for the week before as that is when my kids are off (4/10-4/17). The airfare is about $3,200 r/t for the four of us out of HPN. I think the rates will drop but obviously I am taking a chance. Those prices are crazy

airtran out of HPN has your dates at $219 each way for non-stops. still pretty pricey for white plains to orlando (we typically get about $69-104 each way on airtran and/or jet blue), but it sounds like it's half of what jet blue would cost you.
