How was it? For me, after 12 years of having the flu shot with virtually no side effects except a sore arm for a couple days, this year I felt like I'd been hit by a Mac truck (may be an old New England saying, but it's true). I had fever, fatigue, nausea, etc. for a day or two. Very surprised since it's never happened before (hey, that reminds me of another old New England saying, but I'll restrain myself). I've heard from a few people that this year was kind of strong, but not until I got it did I agree. In no way am I trying to discourage people-now that I feel better (48 hours and I'm fine), I'm so glad I had the shot. But I'm just wondering from other people who've had the shot-how was it? I know not everyone feels lousy for 48 hours-DH was fine!

First time I was asked about egg allergy and VA had a really weird system this year... daily aviable shots from practitioner sitting at a tiny table

My Doctor prefers we get our flu shot in November so the immunity goes through the entire flu season, so haven't have mine yet. Been getting them for 25 years, never had any issues. Got my 25-26 covid shot 10 days ago, just a sore arm for a day with that.

I had a flu shot a few days ago. No aftereffects at all. I had it earlier than usual this season but I'll get another in January. I heard it is going to be a bad flu season..... I think I hear that every year though.

I got it at the same time as the covid shot, so I don't know which one caused any side effects. I did have some body aches and a headache for about a day.

I never get mine until October. I’ve been getting a flu shot for probably 20-25 years now and rarely get any reaction except a sore arm for a few days.

There is already quite a bit of Flu going around to the point that my medical team suggested I get it now. I am also traveling this weekend (sadly immunity won't be fully there quite yet) and in 1.5 weeks (should be at full immunity).

I also got the Covid vaccination, so I don't know which one hit me hard. Got both last Friday. I had fever, chills, nausea, and a headache that would not go away. Fever only lasted about 15 hours (broke that night) and the rest were a good 48ish hours. I STILL have a slight rash/bruise at the injection site of the flu shot and it took about 4 days for the swelling to go down and it to not feel hot.

I wanted my daughter to have the flu shot before she went off to college. Her first year of college, she was always sick. Was able to get it in the beginning of August for her and decided to get mine at the same time. No side effects for either of us. Thankfully.

The flu shot is designed to target different strains each year because influenza viruses are constantly changing. This is why you might have a stronger reaction to this shot where you did not in previoius years. Each year is a specifically different shot.

It is all an educated guess as to when to get a vaccine. Get a flu shot now, and you have early protection, but it will be have weakened by the last portion of when flu outbreaks historically have happened.

I got both at the same time two years ago and it was rough. I decided to space them out from then on because it did feel like I got hit by a Mack truck. I usually get them in mid-late October, so I can't say if the flu shot was rough this year on it's own for me.

Yes, I feel fine now. The reason I got it so early is that we live in a"Winter Texan" area-where from October to mid April, our population explodes with people coming from up north to escape winter. So I did it to get a flu shot with no wait at Walgreens. Plus we're going to WDW next week, lots of questionable health exposures.

While I do prefer to get my flu shot in Oct or Nov, I volunteer at a local hospital, and we have to have our flu shots by Oct 1. I got my flu and COVID shot on Monday afternoon. Other than a slightly sore arm, I had no side effects.

I just got a flu shot today.......so far nothing. Usually just a sore arm.
I go on a trip in a couple of weeks, so wanted it before that.
However, found out no Covid shots with out a prescription, so I have to get working on that :(
