OK when you spray this mixture on the tiles in the shower area, how long to you leave it sit b4 you wipe if off?

I have whitish/greyish tiles in the shower area and the grout inbetween the tiles is turning a yellowish, so i want it to be nice and white so should i spray this mixture and let it sit - sit for how long?

thanks

lisa

If my grout had mold or stains I would use 3 parts bleach to 1 part water. The fumes will be bad, so if you have a window in there I'd open it. Or set up a fan in the doorway. Don't use any other cleaners with the bleach. Leave it on 5 - 10 minutes, but you will be able to literally see the grout turning white in a few minutes if they are really stained.

I spray it on full strength, turn on the fan and close the door. Come back and hour or two later and rinse it down. It sparkles!

Really Anne, it doesn't hurt the tiles???

Nope! And the grout is WHITE! :goodvibes

If I have a problem spot (like the palce in DS's shower where he leaves his shampoo bottle on the floor instead of putting it in the caddy) I pour bleach out of the bottle full stregth onto the spot!

well then I think I may have to give that a try once the weather warms up a bunch up here that we can open windows.

If you have an exhaust fan, turning that on for about half an hour works equally well. I don't think my bathroom window has ever been opened. I'm not even sure if the screen is in it. We took them all out before one of the hurricanes, DH put a few back, not sure which ones. (We have a screened lanai, and open the doors/windows to that if we want fresh air in the house.)

I tried bleach on my tiles and on the shower floor (white with all those ridges) and it only streaked things. The rest was gray and yucky! I must have bought every product out there trying to clean this and finally I have found my miracle product! It is called CLR for bathrooms and let me tell you it cleans everything with no scrubbing and no fumes! :thumbsup2 I should take out stock in this company!

I was also wondering if the bleach would hurt the tiles?? Ceramic -- it wont do anything to them, only the grout?

if i use the bleach a bit watered down and it drips into/on the bathtub which is a grey will it ruin the color at all

thanx

The bleach will not harm the grout or tiles, as long as the tiles are a glazed ceramic. Same thing with a glazed tub, although if it's fiberglass I'd spot check in an inconspicuous place fist.

I checked online and it's supposed to be available at Target, Walgreens & K-Mart. Where do you buy yours and in what area of the store? Our showers are not real tile (looks like tile, but is some type of other material that is all one sheet). Do you know if the product would hurt this? I'd like to give it a try.

I have a fiberglass tub and shower in one bathroom and I use Suave shampoo (full strength) to clean it. Pick a clear variety and squeeze some out and use a brush. Let it sit for an hour or so. No fumes, obviously. If you have a stain, pour it on and let the shampoo sit on it for a while.

It's great especially if you're sensitive to fumes like I am. It does an amazing job of cutting through the grime. I hate to think what it does to hair! :rotfl:

You should be able to find it with the other cleaning products. I picked mine up in Target. I would spot check it. My shower floor is some sort of one piece floor and I had tried everything on it, including straight bleach and it just left streak marks in the gray area. Now it is all white again!
