It seems it's common to have 12x12, but that seems huge... then again if I wanted to put 2 pictures on a page I suppose that's about the right size.

Also, where to you get your album itself? I could'nt find any at the stores. I found some disney ones online that I assume sell at the theme park but they are probably more than regular price I think. Are all albums refillable? I don't want to get one where I run out out pages because I can't put more in.

I scrapbook only in a 12X12 size. The 8x10 seems too small to me. Do you have a scrapbook store near where you live? If not, look online at creatingkeepsakes dot com (this board won't let me post a URL for some reason, sorry). They have a listing of stores. Also, Michaels sells books, but they don't have any theme albums as I recall.

I always use 12x12...that way you have the option to place 2 or more pictures on a page. If you want to do a page with only one picture, you can either mat it or get the picture enlarged. It just gives you more freedom with your pages. You should be able to get Disney scrapbooks at most any scrapbooking store and some craft stores. I live in Michigan and I know that our Joann's Etc. has a Disney album for purchase, but do be careful! Because, no, not all albums are refillable! If you are unsure...just ask. The do sell scrapbooking albums at WDW too, probably numerous places, but for sure at DTD in World of Disney as well as in their scrapbooking store. You will not find these indentical albums at any regular scrapbook or craft store.

My Michaels store has a couple of different Disney scrapbooks. One is just adorable...it's got a shadow box type front with Mickey in the shadowbox. It is quite pricey, i'm thinking around $50. The ones at WDW were around $32 I believe.
As far as size, i'm going to go with a 12x12. The other sizes just seem so small that it would be hard to do what I want with the pages.

It all depends on your personal preference....I've been scrapbooking for years and I used to like big albums when I first started, but now I much prefer the small 10x10 or 9x11, sometimes smaller. I find the small albums easier to look at when I'm finished...not so bulky to move. I prefer to use spiral albums and decorate the cover myself for a less 'busy' look. Many times I have bought postcards in the parks and used one for the cover...I sort of 'decoupage' it by painting watered down glue over the front for several coats, which makes it pretty durable. I still search for Disney albums every time I go, however, just in case they make one more to my taste sometime....I've seen some really cute smaller Disney albums recently at my local scrapbook store as well....Good luck in your search and have fun!

why don't you check out the first link on the Cook and Scrapping Board here onm the dis -
LOTS of stores posted
and I got the 12x12 at Disney - but am notusing it as I couldn't find the right refills so I had a special black CM album imprinted with a swirl mickey head...

For regular family type albums I use 12x12, for ones I do for others I use other sizes, I did an ABCDisney one for my godson that was 8x8.

Hi Bonny! Nice to see you over here too! That's a neat idea...and 8x8 ABC of Disney...I may have to do one of those for my youngest DS when we get back! :flower:

I used a 12x12 CM album, just like I always do. I didn't buy it until I came back, because I thought it would be too big, but I had 457 pictures that I printed (digital--not counting the ones I deleted) and I scrapped all but a few of them. I had 70 pages in my CM album (70 sides, 35 pages I guess). I don't like 12x12 pages with only one or two pictures on them generally, most of mine in the trip book had at least 5.

You might want to wait until you get back and see how many pics you have, it worked for me.

I use CM albums - mostly 12*12. I did a 7*7 for my son of one trip (when CM had the special Disney album). I found I didn't like working in 7*7 at all - too hard to put more than one, sometimes 2, pics per page. I just finished 12*12 for our last trip - I'll stick to that!

Garsh! My two favorite topics, WDW and scrapbooking, all in the same question!

I use Creative Memories albums, I like them best. My first album was a 12x12, but then I did a 7x7 and got hooked on that size. I only scrap my very best pictures, and when I'm done it's just one great picture after another. I did a Disney book after we got back in '04 with a black cover, that was before CM came out with an album just for Disney. It's so much fun to look at and remember what a great time we had... I enjoy the scrapping (almost) as much as I do the trip!

Good luck choosing!

I always buy my Disney vacation scrapbooks at Downtown Disney. They are 12x12 size, and have the year on them. I am a Creative Memories fan, but it is important to me to have the "official" Disney Scrapbook. There is a scrapbook store at Downtown Disney now, which has every kind of Disney embellishment that you would want. I even found Disney Bear stickers there! My girls each bought one of these bears on our last trip, so this was a must for my album. I really like the 12x12 size. It's the only way to fit all of my pictures in one (or sometimes two!) albums.

Always a 12 x 12! There seems to be more of a selection of various materials! Where area are you from in MD?

I have done 12x12 albums, also 8x8 and 7x7 ones. The smaller ones can be done up quicker and are easier to handle when you're looking through them, but you can fit more pictures/embellishments on the 12x12 pages. I think there's a situation for each size.

My daughter is a CP at Disney right now ~ got her a really cute 12x12 Mickey album at Michaels ($50 set, $25 with their 50% off coupon) My local scrapbook stores carry a nice variety of Disney albums ~ my favorites are by SandyLion. They are quality albums, have great cover artwork and are refillable.

I just completed an 8x8 album for her boyfriend who just finished his Disney semester and had to go home. In this case, the 8x8 size was just right; I could finish a page this size quicker than I can do a 12x12 one.

Scrapbooking is such a fun addiction!

OOO Disney Shadowbox that sounds soo cute.. I wanna buy it!! $32 at disney? How do they look like..

I swear I went to my Michael's and walked down all the scrapbooking aisles and never saw one album. I must be blind... I'll go back there and take a look.

MICHAELS IS DA BOMB..hah seriously, I love that place. I thought it was funny when I noticed there were tons of people in the sticker isle once when usually there aren't.. cause there was a sale :)

Well, I was just looking on Ebay and it seems you can find some really cute ones on there for a bit cheaper! Even the shadowbox one!

Where in disney can u get them?

I bought the shadow box album at Michael's a few weeks ago. It was more like a kit with stickers and some paper in it. I'm using this one for my ABC album. I am partial to 12x12 but DH tends to take tons of pictures and I feel the need to scrap them all. He took 1200 pictures on the last trip and we were only there for 5 days. LOL! See if I ever let him buy a new camera ever again.
One thing I have heard about the albums sold at DTD is the refill pages are hard to come by. I'm really hoping the powers that be will fix this soon. I mention it every time we go.
The albums I saw at Disney in April were princesses, 2005 where the party never ends, 05 Pooh, and the dark blue full body Tink (I got this one). If I am not mistaken there were several sizes of albums but not all of them may have been scrapbooks, some might have been photo albums. laughingplacestore.com has some photos of the albums in the DTD store.
