For those who rented points

After you were matched with an owner and signed the contract, did you ever hear from you TA? We rented from a well known rental company. My TA replied to emails within minutes/hours before signing our contract but after we signed it would take her a day or two. Also before our trip, I was kinda hoping to get a courtesy email saying "have a fun trip" or even an email afterwards asking how the trip was but I got nothing which was a little disappointing. This was our first time renting so I'm not sure if I'm expecting to much or she dropped the ball.
 
I do not recall any pre/post trip communication from the broker when we rented points. We called Aulani directly a couple times just to verify that we still had a reservation so we weren't surprised at check-in. All was good!
 
Are they actually TAs? I guess I assumed they were not and were just the go-between for the two parties involved.
 
They aren't travel agents - they just broker the transaction between the two parties. I have rented points through a broker for a WDW stay, and a couple weeks later I did get an email with a "gift" to allow us to get free magic band skins. I wouldn't be expecting anything.
 

Correct, they are not a travel agent. I suspect any delay in response after your reservation was made was just because time is of the essence for their customers not yet under a reservation. Those emails likely take priority because room inventory is live and can change at any point during their communication process with owners and renters. They need to move quickly on them. You were already all set at that point.

A courtesy automated email would've been a nice gesture. O'well first time renting and didn't know what to expect but now I do.
 
We have rented with Davids twice and both times received an electronic "postcard" wishing us a happy vacation.
 
We used a rental broker and got an email a week before the trip, asking if she could do anything for us, then an email after we returned, asking how the trip went.
 
Davids and the other big one rental dvc site are very good about sending info before and after especially the other dvc rental site that shan't be named. Have used both more than once and never had a snag!
