All I know is that I have just one name. Thanks, CC, you are right. It's embarrassing to make sure to make someone feel comfortable only to learn that they've been a member of our community for a long time. It makes me feel like an idiot, the again-- that would probably be an accurate description.

Okay, when I took my long break from the DIS a year and a half ago, I did come back a few months later under another name, Dumbo Deprived. I still needed the break as myself, but I wanted to participate in some of the debates that I was following with some friends. That may not make sense to others, but it gave me the distance that I needed. In any case, nobody welcomed me or wished me happy birthday.

I find it fine for the occasional fun DIS'er to log in with an alias, for the purpose of goofing around and having a few laughs. Also for the DIS'ers who may have had their DIS name closed out, for whatever the reason by management here, but with the normal understanding they are welcomed back, under a different name, just don't do the 'whatever reason/s' again. Or for those who may want to ask or tell something very sensitive or personal, and do not want to make it publically attached to their 'normal' name here, and so state so in their first posting.

But I truly can't stand the ones who reregister here, under a new moniker, with an intent of duping the DIS public in general, making a mockery of them, or to harass other DIS'ers. That I can't stand!!!!!!

A big % of the time, it doesn't take too long to figure out which aliases belong to which DIS'er though. For instance, I think that WebmasterCathyCanada is posting as CathyCanada now.
