My husband and I are considering looking into some timeshares other than DVC *gasp*

We started looking online for resales at Myrtle Beach, but all the websites that we've looked at don't seem very reputable.

I know a lot of you own outside of Disney and I wanted to know where is the best place to begin finding information about these timeshares and how to find resellers who are actually knowledgeable about what they are selling?

TIA

I'd second above recommendation to visit the Timeshare User's Group; link to TUG's discussion forum. My other timeshare properties are mostly west coast ... no immediate help to you. (Sorry)

Agree with Doc and would add Redweek as another listing service. The Timeshare Store sells other timeshares and has been helpful to me with a MVCI purchase and sale. The purchase was in Orlando and the sale in Aruba. Seth Nock is a broker with a very good reputation on TUG and assisted me with a purchase in Aruba.

I agree with all the above. Bluegreen is very set for MB, Marriott has a resort there as do Wyndham and Sheraton plus a number of other individual resorts and systems. How would you use it, just for MB?

I would go directly to the big brand name time shares. I, in addition to DVC, own through Starwood Vacation Ownership (Westin and Sheraton). We LOVE our SVO interest and highly recommend it. The properties are amazing and the locations are great. Just google Starwood Vacation Ownership and you can find the site. They have a resort in Myrtle Beach - Sheraton Broadway Plantation. DW and I went there a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. I would also check out Marriott, they seem to have a very good program as well.

One caution about resales - unlike DVC, when you purchase most other TS's on the resale market you loses some of the benefits they offer.
