I love Mexican food and would like to eat at the San Angel Inn. My husband does not like Mexican food, but will eat things like nachos. It doesn't look like there is anything like nachos or chips and salsa on their menu. The plan was for us to use 1 credit there with him just getting an appetiser, but I can't find anything that he would eat. For those who eat there, do they have plain nachos (cheese/taco meat) or chips and salsa?

He might eat the chorizo and cheese dip app., but that shows it is for 2 people. Can it be ordered for 1?

If you go at dinner there is a nacho appetizer on the menu. It's not much but it would be something for him to eat while you are eating. They also serve chips and salsa when you are seated.

We have had nachos during lunch time, they are wonderful. And yes, they do serve chips/salsa. The food is fantastic, tell your hubby to give it a try..he probably hasn't had anything like it.

The food there isn't what we think of Mexican food - like Taco Bell or our Mexican restaurants. Its different, authentic. Pretty good.

I agree w/ everyone else. This is NOT Taco Bell. In fact, the cantina outside serves that type of Mexican food but is much better. Has your husband seen the menu for the restaurant? He might find something he would eat. My grandmother is old school italian and wouldn't be caught dead w/ a taco. She only eats italian/american/seafood. She doesn't eat chinese food, mexican food, african food or anything like that. And she really liked the San Angel Inn.

I always order the nachos de pollo--chicken nachos, it's on the lunch menu. It comes with tortilla chips, chicken, chorizo, tomatoes, jalapenos, black beans (I think), cheese, and sour cream; they are really good about taking ingredients off if there's something you don't like. I always order it with no tomatoes or jalapenos and I've never had a problem. Hope this helps.

I should have explained better...he doesn't really like real Mexican, but he will eat Tex-Mex. We ate at San angel years ago and he got sick after, so he doesn't want to order a meal here. Chips and salsa would be good. I didn't see nachos as an appetiser on allearsnet, but we are going at lunch rather than dinner. Maybe he can ask for them?

Thanks for all your replies.

I am a pastry cook and i am very picky..And i LOVE mexico!!! Lunch time is your best time to go. you can also go across the way at the cantina they have excellent food and drinks. its great sitting along the water and eat nachos! just to help you a little. :) have fun in what ever you do.

I say you just divorce him and be done with it :rotfl2:

Just kidding of course.

Mexican is my favorite :cool1:

This is the nacho appetizer listed for dinner. You might see if they will let you order it as a lunch appetizer.

Nachos - border creation of tortilla chips topped with red sauce, melted cheese, chorizo, jalapenos, tomatoes and sour cream $5.95
