For those who like Rainforest Cafe

Just wanted to say for those of you who like to take the kids to the Rainforest Cafe...we went to the one at Downtown Disney on Wed. May 25 and we were easily seated after only waiting 10 minutes! We were there at 12:20 for lunch and there was hardly a wait! Just thought I would pass this along for those who want to eat there. We did not have PS arrangements. I know many people don't like the food for the price...but I had the Turkey wrap sandwich and it was very good. My DHs burger was 'good' and the kids had the cheese pizza which they really liked! It is very entertaining for young kids...which is great so that moms and dads can have some peace!

The turkey wrap is my favorite! If you join the Safari Club, you will always get first available seating, and it's free to join.

Safari Club is NOT FREE to join. I believe it is $15. We joined the last week of April. It was worth the price NOT to wait over 2 hours.

It used to be $10 but you received a coupon for $10 the day you joined. We have never waited more than a few minutes using our Safari Club, but I'm not sure I would pay $15 for that service alone.

Besides the first table available seating...you also get either a free appetizer or 10% off total bill for 5 people. You also get $5 birthday certificates. It more than recoupes it's initial fee!

The last time we tried to get the free appetizer (AKL RFC), we were told it was the 10% discount only. Was the server wrong? I liked getting the appetizer better than the discount. The $5 coupons are great, if you get a chance to use them. Mine both expire before our trip, but I was told that they will honor them if it hasn't been too long after the expiration date. We don't have a RFC anywhere near us to use the coupons at.

I cannot imagine that they have different rules at RFC in AK. The last time we ate there was Dec 2003 and we got the appetizer then. We live in Auburn Hills, MI and we have a RFC here...we just ate there last weekend and got the free appetizer. If I were you, I would probably go onto their website and inquire. Maybe the server who waited on you just didn't know that the appetizer was an option. Check with the website and if they say that the entire chain follows the same rules for the Safari Club and you still have a problem...ask to speak to a manager. (we also ate at the one in Nashville recently and had the free appetizer there too!)

I just went onto the website www.rainforestcafe.com and checked under Safari Club benefits and it shows "either 10% off or chef's choice appetizer".

Just wanted to say, we LOVE,LOVE,LOVE RainForest Cafe !

I'm just so bummed that it isn't on the meal plan any longer

We love it too, and ate there twice last November when we were there on our first trip. We were also seated right away for lunch both times, and used our Annual Pass discount when the bill came . This year we are going to buy the dining experience card.
