For those who have already made and worn your designs in the park...how did they hold up when splashed on rides? The reason I ask is because I don't want to wash my shirts after applying the transfers in case the colors run...but I don't want to be in park with shirts running from being splashed a bit either. So for those who didn't do the wash in vinegar first, how did they hold up after the water rides?

WASH them FIRST before you apply the transfer...that's what I did...ironed them nice and crisp and they are packed and ready to go

Yes, I did wash them first. Just curious if anyone had problems with the transfers running after the water rides. :)

I would like to know to know as well. I prewashed my shirts but wasn't planning on washing them again until after the trip.

Maybe Amy could answer this - at least on her transfers as that is what I got.

I'm in the process of making shirts for our trip in May. I used Amy's transfers. I washed all shirts first and dried without a dryer sheet. I applied the transfers to all types of fabric.....100% cotton, 50/50, and dri fit shirts. I DID NOT do a vinegar wash. I let them sit for a couple of days and then washed them all. They all look perfect!! I figured I would wash them at home first. It didn't make sense to have something go wrong when we're on our trip!! I cannot attest to all transfers but I can tell you that Amy's transfers hold up perfectly!! If you use her transfers you should have no problem.

My personal experience is this: My family and I went to WDW for the first time in 2009 and it did that daily rain on us every day. (I think that is the norm in Florida in late May?) Anyway, we got wet many times and did not experience any running on our transfers/tshirts at all.

I do not do the vinegar wash as I have personally not seen a need for it, so I cannot speak on that.

I never wash my shirts again until after my trip. I love the way they look so crisp right after making them and see no need to re-wash as they were just washed before applying.

This is all my personal opinion but thought it might help.

Thank you for your responses! I also like the crisp look, and I used Amy's transfers, so it looks like we'll be ok without washing again before our trip. That's a huge relief! I also love how easy Amy's transfers are to use...Ive used many store bought ones of varying brands, but hers look the best and go on so easily. Thanks to all, and especially Amy for her transfers! (I sound like a commercial now, don't I?):cheer2:

Hi there - We went to WDW in February of 2010. We used the transfers from Amy. It rained almost the entire time... Like 6 out of 8 days - and the all day kind of rain. Everything held up well. Most things came back looking perfect. We did have one DISign that ran just slightly... The design had a dark black outline...and was on a white shirt. So there was a little bit of gray that showed on the edges. But anything else - that was on gray, red, yellow, even other white shirts - held up perfectly. I think you'll be just fine. Her transfers are the best. I've since made other shirts/things using them- have washed/worn them over and over (well the kids have) and they've done great. Have fun!
