For those who have stayed in Swan & Dolphin ...I would like to ask a few questions:

1). How would you travel from Swan to Yacht Club? I have two seniors, one kid, one infant (on stroller) in my party - staying at Swan but have a 7:00pm dinner reservation at Yachtsman Steakhouse.

I've read about boats to Epcot stops at Yacht Club, is it possible to make use of this transportation for a round trip?

2). Are there any laundry rooms in Swan/Dolphin that we can wash our clothes?

3). Is there still a National Car Rental booth there? If yes, is it located at Swan, or Dolphin?

Thanks!

Yes

Yes,there is a laundry. I've used it at the Swan.

There's an Alamo car rental booth.
Thanks!

You're welcome!!!

Just to elaborate on the previous poster - I believe the laundry facilities for both the Swan and Dolphin are located in the Dolphin.

Very nice hotel and great location, you will enjoy your stay there:thumbsup2

Thank you for the replies :goodvibes

rie'smom, do you mean it is just a 2-minute walk from Swan to Yachtsman Steakhouse? If this is such as short walk, I'd better off walk instead of taking a boat.

Is Alamo located at Swan or Dolphin? I am assuming the two hotels have different entrance, but they share the same parking lot?

It might be a 5 minute walk-ddefinitely not worth waiting forn the boat.

The Alamo counter is at the Dolphin.

Also, ericafny was right. The laundry is at the Dolpohin-sorry about that.

The hotels are wonderful-the staff,the beds,the location,etc.

The boat usually seems to take FOREVER to get to you and if I'm not mistaken, I believe it will then go to MGM first, then head back to the Boardwalk, then the YC... so it will take quite some time. The walk is not that bad at all. Much better way to get there. :thumbsup2

Wow, I didn't know the S/D were in walking distance of the Epcot resorts!
Cool!:thumbsup2

The Boardwalk is in the Front and center, The Swan and Dolphin Hotel is to the right and the Yacht club Resort is to the right of the Dolphin Hotel.

Both National and Alamo are at the Dolphin. The cars are the same - just rent from the company that costs less.

I almost always walk to Epcot and the other Epcot resorts (and sometimes to MGM, too). But when my husband, kids, and in-laws were with me at WDW 2 weeks ago, they took the boat.

There are two boats. If you get on the one to MGM, then that's where you'll go after leaving the Swan/Dolphin. The Epcot boat goes from the Swan/Dolphin to the Yacht/Beach Club, then to the Boardwalk, and finally to Epcot.

Here's just a little tip that we've learned through the years. While waiting for the boat at the S/D, if the boat is coming from the MGM side, it's your boat for going to Epcot.

If it approaches from the Yacht & Beach Clubs, etc. (epcot area) then it's your boat going to MGM.

When returning from MGM, it stops at the S/D first! :)

just an FYI. We rented a car from the Alamo desk a couple weekends ago. We had a 9am reservation and it took almost an hour to get the car because the line was out the door and only one person was working the counter. We got there about 8:45am. That was a little frustrating.
