Have booked a studio but contemplating upgrading for the extra £190. There are 3 of us and will prob have bfast in the room apart from the 2 character b/fasts booked .Only there 5 nights but wondered if it is worth the extra dossh and having the extra room.
Anyone know if I would have to pay for the upgrade when I ring as paid in full for the rest of the hotel or will they let me pay 7 weeks before we go???

We debated this for next years trip but when quoted for the 15 nights it was a bit out of budget. In any case, I would still be sleeping on sofa. If you're only going for 5 nights then I'd be inclined to stick to the studio. Myself and my parents spent 2 weeks in one last year and could've done much longer. We almost always had brekkie in room - but I was quite impressed with artists palette b'fast when we tried it.
I'd be thinking what else that money could be spent on like a night in a Universal hotel, more spends or a few nights at the beach.
Happy planning!

Just noticed your other question- if you've booked with Disney uk I think it's £50 amendment fee. If you've booked Disney us, I think the timing will depend on if it's package or room only.
Perhaps someone else can shed more light. :)

I think it depends on what sort of breakfasts you'd like to have! If you just want toast or bagels (etc.), the facilities in the studio rooms will be adequate. If you want cooked breakfasts, you'd be better off with a villa as they have full kitchens.

I don't think they charge you an amendment fee if you're increasing the value of the holiday.

I think it depends on how much you want to spoil yourself really.

The Studio's are great and very handy having the fridge, microwave, toaster etc in it, but aside from that, it's not massively different from a normal hotel room. When you're in a 1 bedroom there's no question that you're living it large - it's wonderfully spacious in comparison and just feels a bit more special.

It's nice having 2 rooms so if someone wants an early night you don't have to feel guilty if you still want to watch a bit of tv or something. Plus it does have the little jacuzzi bath too which is nice to relax in after a long day in the parks.

Kitchenette is obviously better too with a full sized fridge and freezer but probably not that big a deal just for 5 days but nice to have proper plates and stuff rather than the paper ones and as previously mentioned, Artist's Palette is a great little quick service place. Everything is available 'to go' so you can even bring back food to eat in your room and plate it up properly (there's a dishwasher so no mess afterwards even).

We usually treat ourselves to a 1 bedroom for part of our stay, but always do it at the end though so we don't have to 'down grade' later in the trip to the smaller sized room - no reason for that other than the pyschological, but perhaps what stage it's happening in your trip and whether you'd be disappointed moving to a small room again after is something else to consider.

Are paper plates provided in the studio rooms then? What about glasses and cutlery? :)

Yes, you get a little stash of paper plates and plastic knives and forks in the cupboard. There are regular cups and glasses to drink from though :)

Not a huge amount though, think perhaps 4 of each.

Thanks for the info. There are only two of us so that should be fine. :thumbsup2

Ok thanks for the info.We are staying in style a bit as staying at RP universal thenonto SSR in a studio then AKLV in a studio with savannah view. Apparently can upgrade at resort to a one bedrrom but would probably cost more so gonna leave at the studio for now and see how it goes. It doesnt cost anyhting to upgrade as I phoned and asked. Thanks for the info
