We took the "blue route", per Robo's map, in mid-June on a regular 9:00 am park open. We didn't even enter the park until 8:47, and headed to the Hub. (We are not hard core rope droppers, so this was the plan.) We weren't right up to the rope, of course, but honestly, it wasn't that crowded. Our aim wasn't to be first; it was to stay out of the 7DMT crowd. They did hold the very first people on the blue path near the castle, but by the time we got there, they had let them through. We entered the PP line at 9:04 and exited the ride at 9:20. This was perfect, as there was just enough of a line for us to enjoy the interactive features in the bedroom in the queue. I like to RD PP instead of using a FP, all because I love the queue!
People who used the orange path were kind of going against the flow of people getting in line, and had to head down and backtrack to get in at the end of the line. I don't think that would cost you significant time, but for me it felt less chaotic to be walking in the same direction as the line was forming.
