Hi all!
About 6 months ago we received a mailing offering $200 Disney Visa reward dollars for using a new Visa card. At the time, I got some great info on the boards regarding how it worked, and also a few people mentioned having multiple cards---I believe the thread mentioned you could have up to 3 cards. So anyway, I received another offer for $200 rewards dollars recently and applied again--this would have been card #2. A week later I received a letter saying that my request was denied because I already have a Disney Visa card. There was a number to call to discuss "my credit needs".

Just curious if this has happened with anyone else? Maybe they are cracking down on taking advantage of multiple offers...?

I must have read the same thread as you because I thought the same thing, and was sooo excited when I received my offer for a $200 gift card. I already had a Disney Visa too and got a ding letter stating that I already had a Disney Visa.

They must have recently changed that policy....but what I don't understand is if they changed it then why in the world are they sending offers to those that already have one?

Funny, DH just got off of the phone with Chase regarding that very same letter. We received the same offer about 8 mos ago and got another one about 2 weeks ago. He received the "call to discuss your credit needs" letter as well. Today, the person he spoke with told him that you can only have one of those offers in a lifetime. He asked why then do we continually get them, she said that they have no idea you already have a card when they send those out :confused3. Hubby works in IT and he cries "bull" on that, but whatever.

come from a marketing division. They are sent to people randomly not knowing if the recipient already has a Disney Visa. I believe the multiple card rule changed in Februaray (maybe March) of this year. You can now only have one card and get the free $200 card offer one time only.

Thanks for all the replies everyone. Well.. I am bummed that I can't take advantage of the offer again, but we did get to use our $$ on our last trip in April. Thanks for letting my kno I was not the only one.

I received the same letter from them, however it didn't say that I was not approved. When I called, she said the $200 offer was only for new customers. When I complained a while back, a CS rep. sent me a message (via Chase.com) saying that if I received an offer for the $200 gift card, I can apply and receive it. I have the CS's name, number, email, etc. So I am waiting for the marketing dept. to call me back.

I thought I read in a previous thread that you and your DH already got the card. Not sure why I remember that. LOL! How long ago is "a while back"? Perhaps the CS rep. was not aware of the new "no multiple cards" policy change at the time of your complaint.

I received my card in Oct. 2010. DH received his last month. After seeing the thread on here and reading about everyone calling Chase and getting $200 like nothing (when they didn't receive the offer), I gave it a shot and called to complain. This was the reply I received back 3/23/11-

"For now, we can offer you the alternative of applying for
this new product by calling the toll-free number on the
back of your card or by visiting our Web offering the $200
Disney Reward Dollars. If you are approved for this new
account, you would have the option to maintain both
accounts or close your current one and pay off that
balance over time."

I will try to update with the outcome.

DH and I each have three. Our first was the $40 statement credit, last year was the $100 giftcard, and this year the $200 giftcard. Im going to cancel each of our first cards. We also receive a lot of the 3x offers since we have 6 chances to get them, usually at least 4 of the cards get offers, though not all the same (sometimes the $800 threshold, while others get the $300 threshold). I only use these cards when there is a 3x offer, as we have another reward card we prefer.

As for those who will say my credit will take a hit, I have never carried a balance as we pay them off every month. Ive been in the same house for 17 years and have no plans to move for at least 6 years.
