Dd3 has been very ill this past week with temperature, shivering, sweats and now a really bad cough ....i have been on the phone to doc who wouldnt come out because he thinks it could just be a viral virus and today has prscribed antibiotics for her but only to use if she getes worse ..

are any of these syptoms related to swineflu ?.

Yes they are symptoms(but they are also symptoms of other viral infections/flu etc ,so please be aware of that+try not to worry-says the biggest worrier of them all).

Apparantly the first main rapid onset of Swine Flu-is temp, shivers+a sudden cough.I hope she is well and it is something else .x.

im now sat waiting for someone to answer the nhs direct line ........this is really scary how long i've been waiting ...they are only dealing with swine flu cases !
its most probably nothing, but the baby has started to have a cough aswell so im getting it checked ..will keep you all informed !:sad2:

I rang the NHS line on Wednesday and was told there was a 75min wait .
I hope all is well, and it's nothing to worry about. Please let us know the outcome .x.

It is probably best to get a second opinion, so I think you are right to call them.

Let us know what they say.

Stay on the phone to NHS direct.
I gave up the first time,as soon as I got through and said we was recently home from America I was passed around to different doctors, and they sent Tamiflu out the same evening, infact gone midnight our first batch came for me,Dp and DD..then the youngests came via taxi the next morning.

Our symptoms was general cold symptoms with fever (Dp felt his skin was burning),fevers, coughs, headaches and squits.

Hope your all ok x:hug:

dd3 is looking better today her temperature has gone down and she isnt so hot as she has been this week ..still has her nasty cough though .dh picked up her antibiotics this morning so have been giving her those .....
i was on the phone to Nhs direct for over 30 mins to speak to someone for 5 while giving all of the details .then a nurse a very friendly nurse i might add rang back after another 30 mins wait to be told that i was to carry on as i was with the fluids and calpol as it sounded like a viral virus but any worrys to give them another call
The babys cough seems to be what dd3 has had so we are now going to have another few days with a sicky baby aswell :sad2:
thank you all for your concerns and wishes :flower3:

Glad your DD has perked up,and that the NHS rang you back :thumbsup2
I have to say they was very good in treating and sending out our medication.
Hope your all on the mend soon x

So happy to hear that Dd has perked up a little .Hope all is well soon.x.

Sending :hug::hug: to you, hope the children are better soon.

thank you all for your kind wishes :flower3:

Dd3 is getting there ....she had me up all last night with her cough ..but seems better today but im having a bad time getting her to drink ,i've tried bribery with chocolate and that hasnt worked :confused3
any suggestions would be welcome
and little man cough is getting a bit better :thumbsup2

Have you tried her with ice pops or ice lollies?

Always remember dd ended up in hospital dehydrated because she wouldn't drink and thats what they recommended at the time. Any fluid is better than none they said.

Hope you manage to get something down her.

I will suggest the same thing as tasha's mum :thumbsup2.Ice pops/poles are the way to go :thumbsup2.I don't know any child who refuses them. The easiest way to get fluids into a child.
Hope they are a little better today .x.

the babys cough is getting worse so i have an appointment in a bit for him ..it seems as we are all coming down with it now :sad2:

Hopefully you will all recover quickly. There are lots of virus' going round at the moment my 1 year old nephew has had a viral one last week where his temp reached 40 degrees

i had the appointment and to be on the safe side the doc has prescribed the tamiflan for him and it seems quite possibly dd3 had it last week aswell :scared1:
so now we have to on the look out for the rest of us getting it...i've had a sore throat achy back headache and diahorra sent yesterday but feel fine in my self at the moment got to keep an eye on my temp anything high then to ring the docs .

Hope you all feel better soon:hug:
